Kids just don't know how to handle things.
We all learn from real life experience, in physical interactions with each other.
For everything that makes us safe, there's the payment of actually not learning.

I’d say yes. I grew up on a farm and was kept busy mowing and stuff like that. I was a teen in the late 90s

I'm always cautious about the good ol' days but I think teens have it pretty rough nowadays.

Definitely some aspects were better. One got to live down social missteps. Now they’re memorialized via cellphone and posted on websites, where they exist forever.
