Have a extra large slow cooker that I have yet to use. Had it for a decade now and haven't used it once.
I can never get enough people over to even use it. It holds several gallons. 🤣
Bought it when I had a huge place. Yet even then few ever visited. Too remote.

A credit card
I'm a cash only person, but have it for extreme emergency. I never used in 5 years may not even work anymore.
I hate credit, credit puts you debt

@HumanEarth If your potential partner in a transaction won't take cash - as many businesses and government agencies no longer will, there's unlikely to be a way you can somehow complete the deal by forcing it on them (geographic location notwithstanding.)

Like I won't I go to or do things I once enjoy things I used enjoy because they went cashless.
But if the world would stand up and refuse to use plasic. We wouldn't be facing this cashless world. Cashless is 100% traceable, were cash is not.
I do not like being track on my purchases, my location or anything. I like privacy
You Lose Privacy When You Pay Digitally or With a Card
It Could Be Harder To Control Your Spending
You Will Be Charged Fees on Transactions
Not Everyone Has Access to Electronic Payments (I Refuse To Part Of That)

@HumanEarth I agree with much of what you say and use cash wherever I can but I find 'cash only' totally impractical/impossibe in these times; unless I could somehow live as a totally self-sufficient hermit. Good luck with your crusade.

I have all my documents, my degrees, my clothes, my shoes, my everything. And I got kicked out and I only have my backpack. I had everything that I should've carried with me when I was kicked out stuck in my home :)

have a whole home generator but haven't lost power for more than a few minutes in years
exexec · 70-79, C
@saragoodtimes It is still good to have one. Our generator has seen a lot of use through power outages lasting several days due to hurricanes and one terrible freeze.
saragoodtimes · F
@exexec seems the only benefit is if power does go out for a little bit the garage door opener will always work
exexec · 70-79, C
@saragoodtimes Well, that is something.

Air powered framing and trim nail guns .. have seen little use in years since using them to finish a basement and build a shed, but their day is likely coming when I move later this year

My 30" waist, acid wash jeans, from 1993. 😎
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@calicuz I have a pair of Wrangler jeans that I wore in 1985. After I got sick with cancer I lost a lot of weight and tried them on. They fit but the denim was so much stiffer back then and they aren’t comfortable any more.

@calicuz Thank you. They are checking me every 3 months because I had two different cancers and was precancerous for endometrial cancer. They plucked out everything but you never know. I feel a whole lot better than before. Just taking it one day at a time now.
