Compared to some places I have been the whole of Torquay is nicer. The centre of Mansfield which I visited today is a dump despite being full of quite fine buildings.
@ninalanyon I have affection for the whole of Torbay, but the town centres have struggled for as long as I can remember. Beside the deprivation and drugs there is a fair amount of local pride and spirit which always helps. I was last there in March last year. Paignton looked better than I have ever seen it, but Torquay was a bit frayed at the edges.
Does it also have a model village inside? The one nearest my original home, Bourton on the Water does I think
I suppose these days with 3D printers one could go down quite a few levels without too much work.
Edit 14:53: rereading that I feel that it sounds like my original home is Bourton on the Water. That's wrong, it's just the nearest model village to my original home that I know of. Is anyone else cursed with an unnecessary sensitivity to technically misleading sentences?
