If I want change I make change, I don't need a New Year for such.
I make one just for fun. I don't put much effort or seriousness in them but i like the tradition of it. This year's resolution is to speak spanish better by watching and listening to more media in spanish.

It's a good a time as any to make a positive change.
Galanr40 · 61-69, M
I don't need to change anything, just continue doing the same things next year ....

I don't even bother thinking about them. It's almost like putting pressure on yourself to change what you know you'll inevitably break!
BiasForAction · M
I can always improve. I rather like it as a reminder to prioritize my bucket list and make progress.
Fluffybull · F
@BiasForAction Agree. It's good to take stock and think about how things could be better or what you'd like more of. Not just "cutting things out" eg drink/cigs/chocolate etc but " I'd like to read more", "spend more time with the family", "find a new hobby" etc. ☺️

New Year’s resolutions are rubbish, they usually last like 8 days. We should be working on ourselves all year long.

Good decisions can be made at anytime of the year.
I do like the idea of the new year, new start though.

Bunch of bullshit, life is life and you cant plan for what hell is going to come around the corner. Oh you're worried about losing a few kilos then BAM!!! Your cat gets run over, fuck that shit, if someone you love gets hurt then you eat yourself silly and break any fucking new year resolution crap you like.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
A promise never made cannot be broken.
WaafaS · 26-30, F
I don't have any.
Torsten · 36-40, M
I think of it as false hopes people give themselves to make them think the next year will be better but truthfully it will never happen. If people want to change things up, they wont wait till a new year. They will get off their ass and do something now
test9876 · 56-60, M
Hope you had a great Christmas and holiday season. I try to make it a point to eat better and get in more movement but then end up coming short. Something i should try to pick up during the course of the year.
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
Haven't made any since I was an early teen when I realised New Year is just a counter. I have ongoing goals and plans I monitor and track progress against all year. Works well for me.

{@sassyhippie] 🤷♂️fair enough if you think nothing needs tweaking . problem with new year resolutions is they are easy to make but hard at times to actually stick too
Ontheroad · M
Yeah, no. If I needed to make changes I wouldn't wait for New Years to promise to make them so I could fail. I make necessary changes or I don't. End of story.
Instead of resolutions, I choose themes for my year! Last year was the year of video games, this year is the year of reading :)
Sassychick420 · 31-35, F
@kaseybabey that's a good idea
exexec · 61-69, C
Many years ago, I made a New Year's resolution to never make another New Year's resolution. I have kept that one.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
New Year or not, I'm forced to change a few things anyway. I just hope I won't lost too much on the way.
Yulianna · 22-25, F
i am resolved to have a new year... or, at least as much of one as i can.
It never works out as planned, I finally gave up!

I never make them. It just seems like a set up for failure.
Lilnonames · F
I don't do them
