Has anyone noticed that people are increasingly replacing the term "Halloween" with "Spooky Season" instead?

I started noticing that a little last season, but I've really noticed it a lot more this season. I am just wondering if anyone has noticed the same and wondered why.

Thanks

Halloween is short for "All Hallows Eve," which started out life as a Catholic holiday, the night before All Saints Day. (Before that, it was Samhain, but I'll get into that another time.) I'd say the move toward calling it spooky season is trying to get away from the Catholic/Christian influence.

Haven't seen it here, but I've noticed that the "Halloween Season" is twice as long as the Christmas season, and Easter is all but ignored.
Halloween is only one day. Spooky season is the entire month of October.

This is the first time I'm seeing that term.

@CrazyMusicLover Oh, it's around.
Like when they call xmas happy season..
Or Easter ‘random chocolate egg day’…

The woke world is allergic to Christian traditions I reckon..

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout ok, but Halloween and most big holiday are far from Christian traditions 😅
@greensnacks they celebrate halloween in Muslim countries do they?
greensnacks · 31-35, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout idk, but the origin is pagan. Most big Christian holidays are rebranded pagan holidays

It might be an effort to diminish the influence of Christianity in your country.

I've noticed it too, but I also hang out on TikTok a lot.
They're even moreso like sheep on there.

Has anyone noticed that people are increasingly bonkers these days?
SSDecontrol · 56-60, M
@Crazychick

It’s sick and getting sicker. That’s what I always say
I thought this was just to make it cute for young kids or pets etc
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@AbsolutelyFabulous I wouldn't be surprised if that's also part of it.

No. Haven't even heard that term until seeing your post.
