Has anyone noticed that people are increasingly replacing the term "Halloween" with "Spooky Season" instead?

I started noticing that a little last season, but I've really noticed it a lot more this season. I am just wondering if anyone has noticed the same and wondered why.

Thanks

Halloween is short for "All Hallows Eve," which started out life as a Catholic holiday, the night before All Saints Day. (Before that, it was Samhain, but I'll get into that another time.) I'd say the move toward calling it spooky season is trying to get away from the Catholic/Christian influence.
