There’s something very relaxing and fulfilling in making something just for the fun of it.
I really want to get a kit even though there’s all sorts of crappy legislation about flying models nowadays.
I wonder if I could get away with it if I drive out to the middle of nowhere and fly?

Great job. Yet bet even now the battery technology has changed a lot.
It seems to be changing daily. Was looking at drills and one set was up to 24v 650 inch pounds of torque with a 8 amp hour battery pack.

@Stereoguy Yes. It is designed to fly. I have two 685kv motors turning two 120mm 11 blade fans @30k rpm. Total thrust is about 26lbs. @ 180A. Two large batteries totaling 50v power it. All surfaces move and the retracts are air. I added custom flaps following the design of the real plane. I designed the lighting system too. Plane will weigh about 16lbs.
