Why can I never sleep more than 2-3 hours at a time?!

Throughout the night I constantly wake up, I never get a full night's rest and feel so exhausted all the time. Would sleeping pills help me?
Maybe you have a sleeping disorder or your sleep schedule could be all whack out of shape if you sleep during the day like me. Sleeping pills will help, it’ll knock you out and you’ll get a fulls night sleep but sometimes you can still feel exhausted and worn out afterwards, not always, and it’ll suck when your body becomes Immune to them and they stop working then you’ll have to find another brand and it’ll just be a annoying cycle for years because your body depends on these pills in order for you to get any kind of rest. Maybe you should speak to a doctor about it I’m sure they can give you some better advice.

Other than the suggestions give have a sleep study done. You may be suffering from sleep apnea.

Watching TV or being on the Internet just before going to sleep has an adverse effect.
Limit these activities or take magnesium supplements.
I have found that they can work :)

@Zer0Point often there's no single or obvious issue, it's just a cummulative stress effect, try the quiet meditation, as suggested, theres no need to form a yoga pose, just empty your mind by staring into the middle distance! Preferably alone and in the quiet.

You are stressed out, you need to find a way to destress before considering sleeping pills.

Sleep cycles are only 2-3 hours, its just that most people go right back to sleep.. some dont

How long have you been waking up in the night? I have sleep maintenance insomnia, which is the inability to maintain your sleep through the night, and I've had it a little over ten years. I still can't sleep through the night, so knowing that, my sleep schedule includes the hours it takes me to fall back asleep. Most sleep medicines won't make you sleep through the night, but they can help you fall asleep faster.

3 hours is about it for me too. I have always been okay with it though, I can sleep for 3 hours then read or go online for an hour then grab another 2 or 3 hours. I can only ever remember sleeping for 8 hours once in my whole life and that was after pulling a 72 hour shift, controlling traffic during a NATO training exercise (exercise lionheart) in the 1980s. I felt groggy for the rest of the day after that

You may have sleep apnea like me and need to use a c-pap machine.

You sound exactly like me. It's been something I have dealt with for years,it's just what it is. Zzzquil can help for those nights,I usually take that on nights where I don't work the next day or I don't have anything to do until later.

I'm sorry, I'll stop testing my APMs while you try to sleep
