Well another SVT (supraventricular tachycardia) episode. It started at 1:28pm, I took my medication but that didn’t work.
EMT came with 2 ambulances because they needed a level 2 EMT to give Adenosine because it had been an hour and nothing was taking my heart rate down.
They got IV’s in me and cardio pads on and took me to the next town over. On the way there I got Adenosine and that was awful. I felt my heart stop and restart and I felt this heaviness throughout my whole body. Thankfully my heart rate when from 200bpm down to 120bpm.
At the ER they gave me more metoprolol and it’s staying down but I feel exhausted.
I still have the cardiac pads on my chest that they put on in the Ambulance in case the Adenosine didn’t work and they will keep them on in case I start another episode.
Hopefully this gets me into the cardiologist faster now.
Edit to add that my husband couldn’t be any less supportive and wasn’t helpful at all while we waited for the ambulance. I am so thankful for you all here 🩷.
I just got home from the hospital. Repeated EKG and Cardio bloodwork was good.
The Doctor on call is sending a letter with everything to my Dr and the Cardiologist and he wants me to call my doctor tomorrow and tell her she needs to get me into the Cardiologist as soon as possible.
I get to be on a beta blocker twice a day now. Just add that to the other 11 prescription meds I take daily.
I am really tired from all of this and I hope that I can sleep. Thank you everyone for showing support to me 🩷🩷🩷.

I’ve been told that Adenosine feels like having your body rolled up then slowly unrolled. From witnessing it I can understand your feelings.
Also a heart rate that high for that length of time is equivalent to running a marathon or two. So sure you’re going to be exhausted!
I will say that even thought my wife didn’t feel her best she supported me through the whole process to oblation. Hopefully this episode will start the process toward a resolution.

@SageWanderer I could feel my heart slow, like it stopped and I felt so weak. I could feel that all through my body and then bam my heart started beating again and it started slowing down and got back into rhythm.
It was the worst feeling until everything actualized and I was okay. I know most of the EMT’s from working at the hospital and he was really good. He held my hand because he knew it was going to suck.

Wow my friend you are one Strong Chica ... HUggggggsssss. I'm sorry to hear you went through this again. I am SO glad your rate did come down after a bit. Hopefully the cardiologist will be open very soon to see you and get a new plan, or medication possibly since they specialize in this. @Coralmist I didn’t have to have it electrically cardioverted. They just put the cardio pads on my chest in case the Adenosine did not work. They were hoping the chemical conversion would do the trick and they wouldn’t have to resort to that.
Every time you use Adenosine you need more and more of it so it will get to the point where the only option will be to shock me back into rhythm. I don’t want that 😭.
@iamonfire696 awww I see. Well you are a TROOPER .... I hope the cardiologist can really go through everything thoroughly and talk about this condition, and what is the best route to truly minimize it. Let us know what they say 💗
Oh, sweetie, I'm so sorry you've been put through all this and without a supportive partner by your side. It hurts me to know you've been vulnerable and alone while ill. I wish I could be there to hold your hand. I can't imagine how upsetting this has been for you. I'm thinking about you and will be waiting to hear how things are going. @SeaGlass thank you for your support. He is just not supportive and I think he’s heading for another manic episode so FML so it just gets worse for me.
I get that he has issues but he doesn’t try to do better. I just want someone to care about me for a minute.
I am just really tired and I have never sweated so much in my life, it was like running a marathon. I am also hungry and I don’t think they are gonna feed me 😭.
I am not sure how to get it through his head that this is serious, two Ambulances came to my house because it was a Cardiac event.
Once I eat, I will feel better about things. Thank you again, you have no idea what this means to me 🩷🩷🩷.

It sounds like you are in good hands. They must have been setting up to jolt you back into rhythm if needed. The on-call cardiologist will see your chart today and weigh in. That might move you up the list for a full consultation. Best wishes for that big heart of yours.
@Offthetop there’s no on call cardiologist here in this hospital. Because I am back in normal rhythm the doctor will discharge me as long as my 7pm labs are okay but he’s writing a letter and sending all the reports to the cardiologist.
Hopefully that will get me an appointment soon because they caught the whole episode and conversion so the cardiologist can see it.
I am so thankful the adenosine worked because that was scary enough.

@MellyMel22 I am trying too. Wish I could figure out why this is happening. They have no clue but the ER Dr is sending all of this to the cardiologist.!
I just saw this. Im sorry you are going through so much. You are starting to look like my grandma who's hooked to machines. Sending a virtual hug...i really hope you can finally get some peace when it comes to your health
@empanadas it was scary and those are the pads they use to shock your heart and they put them on my in the ambulance in case the Adenosine didn’t get my heart back into normal rhythm.
Thankfully they were not needed and I should hopefully get into the Cardiologist soon.
Thank you, this will get sorted out and fixed, I may need medication or surgery but I will do whatever is needed.
@Cassieeeee Thank you Cassie. My Doctor has ordered an Echo and she’s sent a letter asking the Cardiologist to see me sooner.
He’s not very supportive so it makes it harder. When I had to call 911 on the Sunday he was yelling at me because he thought I was supposed to take me med and wait because that’s what one ER doctor said.
I saw my doctor and she said I needed to get help immediately though and since our ER was closed I shouldn’t be on the highway in the car without medical assistance so I needed to call 911 and was a good thing because I needed that med to get back into normal rhythm.
