Had to be cardioverted with Adenosine 😢

Well another SVT (supraventricular tachycardia) episode. It started at 1:28pm, I took my medication but that didn’t work.

EMT came with 2 ambulances because they needed a level 2 EMT to give Adenosine because it had been an hour and nothing was taking my heart rate down.

They got IV’s in me and cardio pads on and took me to the next town over. On the way there I got Adenosine and that was awful. I felt my heart stop and restart and I felt this heaviness throughout my whole body. Thankfully my heart rate when from 200bpm down to 120bpm.

At the ER they gave me more metoprolol and it’s staying down but I feel exhausted.

I still have the cardiac pads on my chest that they put on in the Ambulance in case the Adenosine didn’t work and they will keep them on in case I start another episode.

Hopefully this gets me into the cardiologist faster now.

Edit to add that my husband couldn’t be any less supportive and wasn’t helpful at all while we waited for the ambulance. I am so thankful for you all here 🩷.

Oh, sweetie, I'm so sorry you've been put through all this and without a supportive partner by your side. It hurts me to know you've been vulnerable and alone while ill. I wish I could be there to hold your hand. I can't imagine how upsetting this has been for you. I'm thinking about you and will be waiting to hear how things are going. Pls know you are loved very much 🫂🩷

@seaglass thank you, I am here in the next town over in the ER alone. Ours is closed today and my husband was just a jerk while this was happening.

The first plan from the ER doctor was to take my med and do vasovagal maneuvers and after 45 minutes if it’s not stopped to go to the ER.

Then my doctor said no, take your med and get to the ER because we want every episode recorded for the cardiologist. She said if our ER is closed to call the ambulance because I shouldn’t be on the highway with my heart going at 200bpm.

It’s a good thing I did today because it wasn’t stopping. I am here alone and he’s texting me and complaining I ruined the day. I didn’t plan for this nor want it to happen 😢.

Thank you for caring, it means a lot to me 🩷.

@iamonfire696 I'm just so glad you're in the hospital rn. I wish your husband wouldn't text if he's not being supportive. You need support rn.

Your doc is right, tho. It's good to get it on record, as hard as it is on you to be in another town and getting non-supportive msgs from the person who should be having your back in this situation. I'm glad your doc advised the safest thing for you.

I'm actually having a hard time not trashing your husband rn. I don't want to add to that stress.

Of course I care. You're one of the sweetest people I've ever met here. I'm not a religious person, but I pray you stabilize fully and that the cardiologist will get to the bottom of this quickly. You deserve to be well and happy, especially for your children who need you.

I'm keeping my eye on your account, so I can know how you're doing. Pls rest as much as you can 🩷

@seaglass thank you for your support. He is just not supportive and I think he’s heading for another manic episode so FML so it just gets worse for me.

I get that he has issues but he doesn’t try to do better. I just want someone to care about me for a minute.

I am just really tired and I have never sweated so much in my life, it was like running a marathon. I am also hungry and I don’t think they are gonna feed me 😭.

I am not sure how to get it through his head that this is serious, two Ambulances came to my house because it was a Cardiac event.

Once I eat, I will feel better about things. Thank you again, you have no idea what this means to me 🩷🩷🩷.

@iamonfire696 My friend... I'm happy to be here for you 🤗 If you weren't a couple thousand miles away, I'd bring you dinner. I think it's a good sign you have an appetite. Tell them you feel low blood sugar. Even a snack would be good. I'm keeping my eye on your account. Won't stop worrying until you report you're better 🩷
