The PEOPLE are supposed to rule THROUGH the leaders they elect.
Operative words, "supposed to". The PEOPLE don't always VET the people running for office to see who they really are, and what they are going to do with the power they achieve through election.
All too often, we end up with power hungry, fraudulent greedy douchebags in Congress, and in 2020 we ended up with the same in the White House.
