Did you have any idea what you were signing up for when you first joined SW?

I thought I did. lol I thought it would be a continuation of my experience on EP. Of course it wasn’t. I never could quite place why. Sort of like a spell was broken and nothing could replace it. And then with time I learned and changed and so did everyone else. Society in general cracked and hate flowed and it became less and less what pleasure it managed in the beginning. I think a lot of the discomfort comes from the fact that you can feel a pull regardless. There are just enough good people and good moments to bring addictive properties to it. Like a gambler who can’t let go of the idea that THIS hand will be a winner. And there’s an ease and escapism to it that feels malignant. How much time have I wasted here when I should have been feeding my soul with something more meaningful? But meaningful usually requires a bit more effort. I understand why people get fed up. I understand why people leave. We have to live our priorities. I still miss the magic, but I get why it’s gone. I take comfort in the names I still see, the representation of souls I’ve been glad to know of. When they go, I wish them well. Maybe someday I’ll go too, but for now, I can drop pieces of myself here that belong nowhere else. I can read questions like this that make me look and think and allow me to glimpse other perspectives. I still find value in those things. I just reach for balance and get a little better all the time. 🙂

I’m not a fan of this place, but there’s good people on here. Just one person nice to me on here is more than I’ll see irl. I delete a lot and in a years time I will definitely be on here much less if at all. I’m just stuck in an incredibly boring transition in life.

We all first buy a product to use it.

It has been a fusion. I don't feel accounts get deleted here.

Each life has an expiry date including my logging in-out sessions.

D- I expected itt to actually be the new EP not filters that separate us and so many other useless features...and the staff making memes about us😠

I didnt really know what to expect when i joined this site, but, i met a bestie on here that helped me change for the better. She helped me deal and realize my anger was misplaced and i learned to accept myself!! 😀 i wouldnt change anything because it brought this wonderful person into my life!!

It has been..interesting lol but I've been here almost a year
Made a couple decent friends. And then there is the not so great experiences. But the cool people make up for it

I just came here because Is It Normal was having technical difficulties.

I never "expected" anything here.

I have never deleted my account. When people leave a forum they usually do not announce it except in rare cases. They just kind of... quit showing up. If they say they are leaving because someone hurt their feelings, you can pretty much bet they will be back.

And about expectations - A former member of this place said that people are not going to find what they seek here because this is merely online.

I planned to be anonymous and just perv around but that didn't last long. It's no fun for a girl in her 20s when 90% of all respondents are men in their 50s and 60s. 🤷‍♀️
So I concluded I needed to change my ways how to use this site because my original plan was useless.

It was an extension of EP for me. It wasn't quite what EP was, but I adjusted and settled into it as it was for a while. It was what I needed or thought I needed for a while.
I won't be here a year from now.

I joined here shortly after EP was shut down.

People were less friendly and less interested in small talk but pretends to be lonely in posts.

I quit shortly.

Deleted my account twice because the site gave me the feeling of being alone in a crowd.

Right now I decided not to initiate contact with anyone.
So I guess I'll stay for now.

There were no surprises.

I was looking for the perfect pancake recipe. Still looking.

This place has its charms. Ill never leave probably.

I kind of knew what it would be like because I was on EP for a short time until it closed down but I didn’t realize it would be on a much different level than what I expected. I have never deleted my account but I do think about doing it at least once a week but then I would have zero drama in my life if I did

I've met some very dear friends, involved myself with some contentious conversations, had some lighthearted conversation, and been trolled. I think that's par for the course?

i am not on here like i was on EP but i have some friends i always touch base with and hope to always do so. some are addicts, some are troublemakers and some are just pervs.

I didn't really have expectations. I look at it as pretty much anywhere else online. I have never deleted and I use this account only. If I don't want to be here I'm not.

Yes. I came here to reconnect with someone I met a long time ago.

Exceeded expectations by far. This is the only social media site where I feel at home.

A friend told me this was a branch of the Western Australian tourist Wild Life Animal picture taking club.

You can tell when you have been blocked, the accident still shows the name out the picture is blurred out like this.

But pretend the name is there 🤣

I know I am blocked a lot, oh well 🤷🏼‍♀️
