Did you have any idea what you were signing up for when you first joined SW?

Has it met your expectations, even exceeded them, or failed miserably?

How many times have you deleted your account, and swore to never come back, only to return?

Will you be here a year from now?

I ask because when I look over an old post, I am always struck by how many deleted accounts there are, how many profiles are blank, how many users are no longer here.
Or…maybe I’ve just blocked.
A lot 😳

I just came here because Is It Normal was having technical difficulties.

I never "expected" anything here.

I have never deleted my account. When people leave a forum they usually do not announce it except in rare cases. They just kind of... quit showing up. If they say they are leaving because someone hurt their feelings, you can pretty much bet they will be back.

And about expectations - A former member of this place said that people are not going to find what they seek here because this is merely online.
@Punches I think a lot of this is true

I’ve take extended breaks from being online, cleanse my soul a little bit.
Then I come back and muddy it up all over again

@Ghostinthemachine When I first got here, like within a couple minutes, I got a PM. I assumed it was the typical admin's greeting like most forums do. But no, it was some guy wanting jerk-off instructions. Not shocking just funny.

It should be simple -
1) take the beef out of your pants.
2) find something good to watch on the web or grab a sears catalog and turn it to the underwear section.
3) Lotion down the beef.
4) Rub it in a back and forth motion
@Punches the first time I got a PM, I had no idea it was a thing here. And I panicked!
I didn’t know whether to reply or delete my account or if the government was now aware of my every online move!
This was my introduction to social media.

@Ghostinthemachine I been on social media for years. People on here queef about everything but trust me it is tame here compared to most others.
@Punches I don’t think I could handle any more excitement than what this place already offers
I’ll just quietly lurk in the SW shadows…

@Ghostinthemachine There IS a lot more good gossip on this forum than most.

@Ghostinthemachine Sometimes someone blunders and it is the talk of the town.
@Punches I’m going to be doubly careful about blundering my way into social media oblivion
