I agree. People often think that carbs make them fat, but they are simply fuel for the body in giving us energy. Obviously if we didn't move around or get some form of exercise then carbs would turn to extra weight in unwanted calories. But the important thing we need to avoid most is saturated fats. I think this is advice everyone should take.

My daughter had some chronic health problems when she was a young teen and she started changing the way she was eating and it was helping her...something as simple as eggplant has a chemical in it that is healthy for people who have brain seizures....spices like curry powder, ginger, are natural anti-inflammatory and pain-killers, green tea can help with stress by raising alpha brain waves and creating a relaxed-alert state, salmon & other fatty fish vs. red meats will help raise moods and help with arthritis, etc. I'd bake her "french fries" coated with a little olive oil and she stopped getting fries from restaurant...she was told by two professionals that reheated cooking oils can break down the DNA in the body and her test results proved it, unraveled DNA linked to lupus breaks down connective tissue and causes a host of problems.

I've tried LCHF, and as most I've been cutting out fats out of my diet most of the years I grew up - the difference between those two is pretty obvious once you try it out, but what i learned is that eating vegetables is the main change of your diet, that actually makes good for your mind and body.

@Lazarus It's the one thing I think matters, whatever diet you're on. It's fascinating, though, that different choices of foods can give so far apart desired results.

There's a battle: between junk and healthy food. I always count calories and never gain weight but I need more healthy stuff in my life.

Yes they not only effect weight, heart, blood pressure but our brains...I believe some cases of depression or anxiety may be linked to not having the proper nutrients, it can spiral out-of-control when stress is added to the pile. 🍒🍆🍍🍋🍅🍉🦂🍓🌽
