I've got a dad bod and I'm not even a father.. Trust me, it's not socially acceptable through personal experience..🤣🤣
bijouxbroussard · F
An excellent question. Women’s bodies are fetishized, even by other women. Men’s bodies are allowed to be functional, without any loss of value.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@bijouxbroussard really?
bijouxbroussard · F
@samueltyler2 Absolutely, in my opinion.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
Women are objectified, we all know that.
Pfuzylogic · M
I think men that have been with mothers actually appreciate them. Some of the younger guys might not have children and don’t appreciate what a woman has accomplished by giving birth.
@Pfuzylogic Exactly
@Pfuzylogic I read this comment in Bill Murrays voice

who said?
milf bods be rockin ffs!
Secretgal · 26-30, F
Idk I’ve seen a trend rising in favor of mom bods for sure
@Secretgal Its not a trend, its been going on since the beginning of humans that guys will screw anything that moves. Dating a mom bod is a different story though.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
Mom bods are sexy 🥴

SW-User
Because women are still supposed to be aesthetically pleasing whatever the cost
Torsten · 36-40, M
i dont think they are at all. Women are glorified and told how beautiful they are if they are overweight these days. men are not
View 2 more replies »
Torsten · 36-40, M
@CrazyMusicLover it rarely ever is accepted. Overweight men are far more looked down upon than overweight women
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Torsten I think so too.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@CrazyMusicLover especially women who have given birth
It depends on who you ask, really
Different people want different things here

Sometimes I wonder about it too. It’s sometimes a one way street.
But I don’t accept dad bods too lol.
If I’m making an effort to look attractive to my partner, he should do the same. We actually talk about these things prior marriage, it’s both for attraction, feeling good and confident, as well as health. Thankfully, we both agree on this.

BiasForAction · M
Not sure I agree with the premise but even if you’re right there are many who are ok with mom bods
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
@BiasForAction mum bods are sexy
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
There is nothing wrong with a mom bod. Just add a welcoming smile.....😷

SW-User
I’ve wondered the same thing but we all know it’s because women are useless if they aren’t visually pleasing
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@SW-User I know I am going way out on a limb with this.. But you know what?? I dont care..😷[media=https://youtu.be/Y1ZJiBHh-Yw]

Are they? Or is that just social media pressure and not the real world?

@ChipmunkErnie
Or is that just social media pressure and not the real world?
Indeed.😴 I never hear these phrases in real life.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@Magenta Then you should listen more. ;)
Magenta · F
@ChipmunkErnie No, because my kind of people don't use such shallow stereotyping language.😉

SW-User
Honestly that depends on the person body, not if they're parents or not , some look great others not, it's not something to generalize.
You find sexy parents and others that you may think they're not. Depends on habits and genes too.

Because when you become a mum you lose sight of who you were and there's so much pressure from us ourselves to get back to a mindset before we were parents. Easiest way to do it is through looks.
I look better now. I like how my body changed. Yes, I need to lose weight, but for health nothing else.

Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
because women, if you want it to change stop selling the story to girls that it's what's inside that counts
OogieBoogie · F
@Jackaloftheazuresand it does seem a contradiction doesnt it?
Women do want to be valued for their character not their bodies.
But we cant change how another thinks.
And thats the crux of it.🤷♀️

@Jackaloftheazuresand and i dont think being deliberately shallow is virtue do you ?
I kinda like my depth🤗

Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
@OogieBoogie When I said virtue that was in reference to valuing the inner self. I have a resolution for everything but people hardly ever know what they are really asking for
BillBixby · 31-35, M
It's a good question. Personally, I'll take either.
TheOneyouwerewarnedabout · 46-50, MVIP
I blame cosmopolitan magazine and associated unachievable goal tabloids..
🕺
🕺
OogieBoogie · F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout 🤣dont lie....you never read cosmopolitan.....it was playboy😏
Beetlejuice68 · 56-60, M
I don’t get it either, wish I had an answer. I love Mum bods to be honest.
Whatawebsite · M
Men hardy get any attention while women get the most, just enjoy the moment just like singers and actors do while they are in their prime
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
@Whatawebsite Dad bods also mean the guy is probably a genuine hard-working individual who doesn't have any real time for dating due to family and work arrangements, but women cannot handle/accept a guy who can't be available every fri/sat night and every weekend in totality.
Magenta · F
Objectification of women to fit some "image" per usual.
I highly dislike both phrases. I think it's used to make people feel better about their bodies, like justification. Versus just accepting.
People are just people, has nothing to do with being a parent. Either they are appealing and attractive to me, or they aren't.

OldBrit · 61-69, M
There's a problem with society's view of what is attractive or not. Frankly never understood why men's bodies are attractive at all!
vetguy1991 · 51-55, M
Typical double standard
Tachyeon · 26-30, F
louder for the people in the back
I dunno. I prefer mom bods. Might be my age though. 🤷♂️
I prefer mom bods. Means they have lived
TheGreatLeveler · M
Because women tend to be valued more on physical appearance, while men are valued more on status, finances, ability to provide etc.
The double standards work both way due to the differences between both genders.

That's like asking why loser women living with their mom is more acceptable than a loser dude in a similar situation. We are desired for different reasons. A man for his ability to conquer the world around him and a woman for her beauty , so you can see why one is less looked down upon than the other.
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
@SW-User But then you have to define what is 'beauty' with a woman, and what is 'world conquering' for a man, and explain why those stereotypes are accepted as the norms.
I personally prefer mom bods.
Mom bods are quite awesome. But, there is one just a bit more awesome than the rest though. 😃....... as for dad bods........ if you keep you dad bod in good shape, you will have alot more success. jus sayin.
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
So exactly what is a 'mum/mom bod' just to make sure we're all on the same page?
Degbeme · 70-79, M
I guess that is a society thing. I think @bijouxbroussard said it the best.
My dad bod is not, nor should be, accepted at social gatherings
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Are they..? 🤔 I didn't notice.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
Because having to be a sperm donor muscle man is way too hard.
because women dont look for looks as much as wealth and power in men
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
Mum bods show that a woman has legitimately born children and has the genuine after-effects to prove it.
chillout17 · 31-35, M

There's no men plus size models
OogieBoogie · F
@Rolexeo evidently you haven't seen australian catalogues.😏
Rolexeo · 26-30, M
@OogieBoogie I've not!

SW-User
I'm a proud owner of a mom bod 😌
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
Because men are more picky about their women than women are about their men? Maybe because women have an instinctive desire to be attractive to men? Maybe because women make snide comments about other women's bodies?
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
Mom bods are socially acceptable I guess.
Bklynbadboy12 · 31-35, M
I never even knew mom bods were a thing
XKayRoseX · 26-30, F
Cos women understand keeping a model figure isn’t easy, for men or women, men just think we can
Bklynbadboy12 · 31-35, M
@XKayRoseX Well you sure make it look easy
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
Mom bods are best😌
redredred · M
Possibly because objectively, women look better than men and more is expected from them.
Funlov · M
I don’t think that way so where did you come up with that may I ask my x wife after giving birth to two beautiful girls still look’s smoking hot I think

@Notladylike I think it’s perpetuated by displaying women like meat on a rack.
@bijouxbroussard I think that’s true and also we’ve been conditioned that if we don’t look at certain way or reach a certain age then we don’t have the right to take up space.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Notladylike Thats so ironic, because my daiky tear off desk calendar " I have a good body whether or not other people like it." ✌️🌟🦋🌺 @Notladylike
