Initially it was a very good movement where those who were really harassed voiced out.But once the people who themselves slept their way into fame deliberately joined the movement for limelight,it all went downhill.

@SeanColorado again don't worry enjoy your life and if theres a god and its yours well i'm glad you'll be happy with him. i don't want anything to do with it i want to die and stay in the ground but well if i stay in the ground thats nice but i'll still keep on hating any religious people :)
i think they are a sickness on this planet, and i would bring you all closer to god faster if i could exterminate you all :)µ
probably won't happen i'm not as a good a guy like hitler who can convince so many people xD

@Psycho and i hope those people will revert when i hunt them down! i hate having things that you can justify horrible things and such things. like religion metoo movement and more. at least when i say i want to exterminate you all i do it because my own view of evil is you i justify it only from my own view and i know i might be wrong in others view.
i'm not hatefull at all i love kids cause they are lovely and old people for their tales i hate everythign in between though. i also don't think we are anythign but meatbags and we have no use but i'm a big teddy bear who loves hugs. i just say go to the police it helps and its like he was saying it doesn't help its easier to go to twitter and yes it might be easier but also harder for the cops.
i don't like rapists, and such and i don't like god but since his views come fro ma god standpoint while it says in the bible in cases rape is legal slaves are a thing and many more things then i'm sorry if god was all-knowing he would have written woman cna't drive in cars, and everyone would be like what are cars until cars are invented.
i rather have 1000 rapist or maybe 1 time offenders free then 1 innocent in jail or life ruined just for the allegations.
and i hate life and everythign in it and thats why i stay in my fantasy and only came here and went out of it to say what i think about it he wanted a debate i jsut said its stupid.

Started out as a serious issue. Turned into a clown show for the feminists, vengeful exes, political hitmen, attention whores and gold diggers

These people didn't care to report it when it happened and could have saved others by speaking out. I don't listen to them now as they are attention seekers.

I take sexual assault seriously as I was myself assaulted long ago. However, that men are considered immediately guilty with a woman's allegation or testimony is simply wrong. It makes me furious to be honest. Everyone is so eager to assume a guys guilt when the possibility does exist that he did nothing wrong. No matter how big or small that possibility is you are still ruining the life of a potentially innocent man. This is a sexist attitude toward men and is toxic for society. We're throwing fairness and due process out of the window. Liberals claim to want equality yet won't care to hear a mans side of the story or conduct a fair investigation.
"Why would they lie?" , you might ask.People don't realize this can be used as a dirty trick in politics or a woman may want a mans job and get him out of the picture, or she may have a personal vendetta. The problem is if the guy is accused and even found innocent many companies won't want to take him just because he was accused. His life is forever effected by it. Cases like this are a shame for real sexual assault survivors because it makes them less believable. The circumstances and timing of Ford's accusations and the others make me believe it was purely political. Democrats care not a damn thing about women. They just want power.

@SW-User Thank heavens you took those courses. Errr....could we make them a requirement in every high school???? 😉
SW-User
@4meAndyou Its a requirement for my degree program. Not really related to IT but I guess it helps to understand ethics while in IT.
4meAndyou · F
@SW-User Yes, umm...if you go to work for Google could you suggest that course as a requirement for all CEO's? 😆

In my area #Metoo had a commercial where the man was shown flirting with a female coworker at the office. She is being friendly too. Then the man makes a comment about the woman being attractive.
The woman suddenly looks like a terrified young doe and says nothing.
Then the screen goes black except for the words "THATS HARASSMENT."
Now that we are using sexual harassment allegation as a gun, let's go all the way and give it gun rules. Like you need to ask whoever is advancing on you to stop before you decide you're going to die and pull the trigger. And you don't swing it around randomly shooting at nothing.
I'm surprised every man in America isn't hiding under a rock to avoid offending anyone.
🤔
It bugs me.

Like all movements it has good intentions, but can easily become over-dramatized and politicized.

personally I found that a lot of men were alarmed by it but it was taking down men in positions of power and for those of us who despise the status quo intensely like I ddo watching the high and mighty crumble is entertaining.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@Caroline259 I have talked to some guys in that situation and they are terrified to fight back because they risk being the ones carried out in cuffs and because of sentencing bias a guy is looking at double digits whereas the woman is likely only risking probation.
Caroline259 · 56-60, F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow It's a similar situation here in the UK. Violent women are very rarely even prosecuted for attacking their male partners.
Even when their victims are seriously injured they can just (falsely) claim self-defence and the police will accept it without question. They often threaten us too and, sometimes, even physically attack us. Even then it can be difficult to get the police to take action against them. :(

PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@Caroline259 The Aussie State government of Victoria did a study of gender bias in sentencing and looked at data from Australia, the UK and the US. They found the only time a woman is ever likely to get the same sentence as a man is during an election because politicians throw everyone under the bus for votes at that time because "tough on crime " sells.
its being blown out. vengeful people, could also be lying. if its done report it dont wait many years down the road to just ruin people's lives.
Oblivion · 22-25, M
I'm not completely sure what it is, but it sounds like more women trying to get attention by hating on men.

spoiled by some people. (some would claim to be part of the movement when if you think about it it wasn't sexual harassment. simply flirting isn't sexual harassment unless its made clear its unwanted. in the work place it should be assumed unwanted however.
another example of how its being spoiled is when someone claims assault when it was consensual at the time. a small movement with the slogan "regret is not rape" protested about some of this.
there is also the matter of some making false accusations deliberately and using it as a smokescreen. nowadays a public accusation can ruin somebody's whole life and even if its retracted the falsely accused still may not recover. these people deserve harsher punishments.
All in all i believe its good that these women come forward even after so long. it can inspire current victims to come forward sooner than later. its a real source of good and support for victims but its unfortunate that there are those out there that would use it for malicious reasons.

#MeToo had a vital function when it started. Harvey Weinstein was finally revealed as an employer who tried to cajole or force his female employees to have sex with him, and it avalanched from there. #MeToo was wonderful for exposing men in the workplace who were telling women if they didn't have sex with them they would never work again. Women were threatened with ruin if they did not comply, by powerful men.
I still think it could be a valid movement, but people in the feminist movement and people with huge political agendas have hijacked it, and we need to differentiate between the valid issues #MeToo first addressed, and the ridiculous warping of that movement. People in the Democrat Party, for example, are polluting what was a good and valid thing and using it for themselves, thus injuring and exposing to ridicule the women whose complaints were actually valid and provable.

carsonfry · 22-25, M
I believe it is built on lies and fabricated victims.
Certainly, a lot of good people have joined on thinking they are doing good.
But when what you do is built on a fake foundation, more harm is done than good.

It reminds me The Boy Who Cried Wolf. at the beginning people believed it, but nowadays due to insane amount of false accusations nobody cares about it anymore.

It's whatever. If people feel like they want to speak about their sexual assault, then they can do so. The only people that are really against it are men that sympathise with the (typically male) perpetrator, which isn't exactly surprising. But I've noticed that it has created a whole "believe the victim/automatically assume the person accused is at fault" thing without any evidence. Kind of sucks. But an accusation of any crime can damage someone's reputation, so that isn't surprising either.
Personally, I wouldn't share a story of sexual assault with anyone but the police. It isn't anyone's business but my own at that point. And I don't feel like I need to let everyone know about it through a huge public thing. But, you know, that's just because I'm a private person. People will do what they want. Talking about a problem is often better than ignoring the problem.

@SW-User So, you're basically supporting all sides and positions on this topic.
SW-User
@MarkPaul Nah. Some people are just straight up rubbish. "Why didn't you tell when it first happened?", "Why are you saying all this now?", "Bet you're just doing it to get attention.", that's all garbage to me. And people who think that crap just seem like really shitty people that, for some reason, feel like they need to make judgments on someone that may be a victim.

@MarkPaul to be clear I think it's wonderful that sexual assault victims are finally speaking out about what happened to them but the thing is that those that are against the me too movement are essentially concerned because they are seeing men they respect and revere fall and personally I hate the establishment and those in positions of power presently so even though I've never been sexually molested or abused I cannot help but watch the Me too movement boil and kind of passively smile because it's taking down these Privileged Fucking Snots and it's just beautiful. More power to the movement.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@BetweenKittensandRiots Don't forget, women are mixed up in initiating the abuse as well.

The Me Too movement (or #MeToo movement), with many local and international alternatives, is a movement against sexual harassment and sexual assault.
