Why do people put statements in the question section?

Side note: just because you put a question mark at the end of a statement...it doesn’t make it a question.
Because you’re required to select a group when stating it as a story and even then it’s not even technically a story a lot of the times. It’s a statement, so there’s really no where else to post statements. Also, a lot of the time the groups do not pertain to the statement being made people are also more willing to look at the question section than the story section given it a larger chance of it being replied to. The way the site is designed to make statements, questions, and stories isn’t the greatest it’s kind of limited when it comes to choosing the groups/topics to place these statements and questions under so I’m not certain why so many people have an issue with this as if the site is set up for you to post questions and statements under the correct topic or even group as a lot of them do not even describe or define what posters are attempting to post.

@Stark Best answer.

Because it's not a rigid hard and fast rule that people need to just ask questions.
People can make statements that invites discussion.

Not all questions are really questions either. Some are just random nonsense.

I think because there isn't a group or story to go with their statement so they pop it in the question section. I've done it!
Why do some people answer a question with another question?
@Straylight Didn’t you?
Straylight · 31-35, F
@DarkHeaven ...yes?
@Straylight Maybe?

Why does it matter?
@SW-User Because it is a shoutout or a statement and not a question. Which defeats the entire purpose of calling it a question section.
Because the question area is a catch all for non stories. Sort of like the junk drawer.
SW-User
Cause I like to annoy people with my statements😊
Because the unspoken question that most people interpret but space doesn’t really allow for is:
“So, what do you think of that ?”
hunkalove · 61-69, M
It doesn't?

👍️ Well said! Many people do that here, rather than find a category that fits their statement and post it as a story.

Thank you. :)

Because sometimes you want a header before the main body, and if you make it a story you have to choose a group for that part.
I've been saying that for years I suggested to admin to make a shoitout section as answermug has.
SW-User
It's like saying: " What do you think?"

Here is question. Why are you SO bothered by this?
Annalea · 31-35, F
@MarkPaul not bothered... just a question lol
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Annalea Well, placing statements in the Question area just seems easier.
Hmm. Is there a guideline for how to phrase posts that are going into the question section. I'd think some of my posts that gave most responses and discussions weren't exactly phrased as a question. 🤔
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
Yeah people don't follow the rules or guidelines. You aren't wrong, but what you gonna do? People are stupid and don't listen.
SW-User
Rules will be broken I do it sometimes too. Doesn't bother me
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
