Lack of Serotonin in the brain is what causes depression and you can find it over the counter supplements Good Luck.

It seems that none other than God can help me away from depression.
@MartinTheFirst @SW-User My salvation is music. Beethoven.
Vitamins like B & C
And nature sounds like ocean waves waterfalls and falling rain
Go to YouTube for nature's sounds there are thousands of them there

Playing a musical instrument or doing some kind of art, writing is therapeutic. There are also natural treatments like like St. John's wort, essential oils and massage therapy if you don't want to try antidepressants. Talk therapy.

@SW-User unfortunately depression can do that to you. It makes you see and focus on the negatives. It can also keep you from doing things you know will help.

@rokrchik1211 I think mostly what it is also is that I’m super lonely, especially ever since I left my ex a couple years ago.
rokrchik1211 · 31-35, F
@SW-User that can do it. I'm lonely too. Watching comedy can help.

Ativan isn’t an anti-depressant. Have you ever been on an actual anti-depressant?
Fernie · F
@SW-User you don't have that many options.
SW-User
@LyricalOne I have always been a positive person and I know I’ll be able to lift myself from this hole eventually soon. If not then I’ll give it a try, wish me luck.

@SW-User I wish you all the luck in the world. 🙂

I'm kind of in the same boat... everything I have tried so far is temporary. Exercise provides the most consistent support, for me. But, at best it curbs it only.
ExploreroftheUnknown · 26-30, M
Make sure you are getting plenty of sleep and stay outside as much as you can. Avoid isolation.

Yoga and drawing (creating) work very well for me. I hope you find your happy place! 🤗

Meditation. Talking to someone who works in the field. Oh and some sort of creative outlet is often good. Writing about your feelings. Coming on here and asking deranged questions :D
Chaoshead · 22-25, M
Stay as active as possible and get a good sleep every-night.
@JustLikeGreta Youtube has quite a few relaxing tapes on mediation, many with soft music, etc. Give it a try.
SW-User
@JustLikeGreta Thanks I probably will
@SW-User
