@Whatawebsite not necessarily; imagine a creature capable of travelling through space at speeds we find unimaginable and a parasitic race which uses them to get around, I've seen this concept in a couple of places I think the magazine was called Starlord but it was also used in the TV series Farscape. Then all the parasitic species needs is a way of tagging onto the larger creature. How could a creature travel at those speeds? It is like us observing the speed of a humming bird which is incredible to the human eye. Humans have set limits on speed but these may not be hard rules.
For me the biggest thing now is when they are going to confirm themselves; more and more government agencies are admitting to unexplained sightings, I'm particularly fond of the flying tictac footage but if that proves to be a fake (who knows?) there are plenty of other sightings/videos out there.
No-one has said they do. Pilots, reportedly, say they have seen objects they could not identify.
It's space-fiction fans who automatically assume "aliens" from some other planet because that is more exciting than any prosaic, Earth-bound explanation - or indeed the possibility of many supposed sightings being mis-identifications or totally false.
Very conveniently the reported sightings are then described as "secret" by their reporter, to stop anyone trying to ask deeper questions.
@JonLosAngeles66 We already have evidence of past visits, numerous ancient societies have made artifacts relating to them. What SETI is is the attempt to gain proof of current extra terrestrial life and their technology.
