Well its finally happened

Ive gotten so old a lady in the grocery store ask me if there was something she could help me with. Just because i was standing looking at the shelves minding my own business. Athough it was nice of her to ask. Do you help the elderly?

I am elderly, but I still help the elderly. It has been needed recently when our Kroger rearranged their shelves. Nothing is where it used to be. Even the meats in the coolers were changed. Lots of people wandering around, reading signs above each aisle, which were wrong in some cases.

@exexec They do that so you will buy things you don't usually buy or need. They also get paid for product placement. Kroger is the worst!

@hunkalove Yep, I figure out some of their scheme.
@exexec Target is the worst of them all, they moved the carts further in, they're no longer at the entrance, and many like minded items have now been separated from each other, they also all but eliminated the auto supplies department.

I always try to. Today in the ER there was an elderly woman in a wheelchair and she had a blanket around her. Her blanket kept falling down so I helped her to fix it while her family just sat and stared at me.

@lissah people are so self absorbed these days.

This morning I asked a little old lady to help me find the cinnamon at Kroger. I'm 75 and don't see well. She was older than me and seemed to enjoy being helpful.
Absolutely, but I also try to respect their independence. It's a fine balance.

Not a problem. We'll all be there eventually. They're someone's parents and grandparents.
id rarely ask and mostly assume people want to be left alone, but i will if they ask. or seem very lost.
@dirge i must've looked lost
@Shybutwilling2bfriends yeah, the metro guys thought the same of me a few days ago. i just told them that i wasn't nearly as lost as I'd seemed
