Don’t forget idiocracy

@DeluxedEdition I got some explanation about the movie elsewhere too, but it still doesn't really click with me. 😅

@Classified It’s just interesting seeing these movies that were supposed to be satire play out in real time.

It was a reference to the movie “they live” and also the movie “Idiocracy.”

In the movie they live Roddy Piper got his hands on special sunglasses that allowed him to see life for what it really was. He would look up at billboards and see advertisements and they would say things like “obey” “ reproduce” etc

Idiocracy is the same way. It was poking fun at how “dumb” people are the ones reproducing at greater rates. (It was more directed at western society) if you look in America right now, math and literacy rates are declining across the nation.

And a person on this thread commented and said
But he’s absolutely right! This is why the government feels the need to intervene and tell us to reproduce. But the reality is we can’t afford to! And as a result our population is declining

But still keep idiocracy in mind. The intelligent people aren’t the ones reproducing. The world we are living in is a result of that

@DeluxedEdition Interesting. I heard a bit of a different narrative that it is actually the government that wants to decrease population. 🤔 Well, maybe not right now with Trump, but he's busy shaking up everything.

Charlie Kirk was not the government though. Who put up those billboards in his name?

@KingofBones1 I don’t think it has to do with religious factors.

The population is declining which is concerning in any society. This is also a big problem in other countries as well. But it is declining because we cannot afford to have kids.

@DeluxedEdition their agenda is very faith-based that is just a fact that is why they are targeting demographics that they don't agree with forcing things like faith-based therapy upon people and want to strike down any belief that does not coincide with their ideals. And you are right we cannot afford to have children anymore because of the skyrocketing cost of living the tariffs which are crushing the economy the rising of the wealthy and the gulf created between rich and poor for economic gain of the few over the many
