@matthewjames maybe you could add something about them as well, what attracted you to their profile, perhaps a question for them to answer if they wish.
I talk to friends on here, but I don’t start talking to random DMs when people haven’t made any effort to get to know me first. From experience most DMs like that are just looking for sex talk which I have zero interest in
@matthewjames no because most just DM “hi” they haven’t read any of my posts or seen what I comment on, it’s like they see I’m under 25 and have a vagina, that’s all that matters. They then usually say “what would you like to talk about” it’s infuriating, I didn’t want to talk, they did but made zero effort other than sending DMs to many random online females waiting for one to bite.
Because people don’t feel like messaging, they’d rather communicate in the public space. That’s usually the case for me, suits the amount of involvement I choose to have here.
One more tip: don't leave people on read as soon as you realize they are male and not actually the potato with makeup in their profile picture.
Doing so might make people think you're only interested in chatting with women, or who you thought was a woman, and that's often associated with being after much more than friendship.
