I've asked this so many times. Maybe that's how they were brought up. It's really unfortunate.

I am not snobby, btw.

I come across a ton of snobs at my work and it seems that they have super high expectations from everything and everyone in life because they have this superiority complex that constantly has to be fed. It’s probably just how they were raised given the status of a majority of our clientele. They’re an exhausting bunch though.

I was raised on the opposite side of the spectrum being reminded often how little I deserved from the world so I was forced to be very humble at an early age. Took me years to get to a balanced place and because of that anti-doormat way of living I can come across as someone along the snob lines when I don’t cater to narcissists, or just normal folks expecting way too much from me. When I’m tested I definitely let it be known that I do in fact know just what I deserve in this life and anyone who tries to convince me otherwise isn’t worth my time or energy. I guess the snobs encountered at work think the same way. We just have a difference of opinion on our levels of expectations and the vastness of the wake left behind.

I've always disliked snobs.

They may be very introverted if you don’t know them well. But like Gunfinger said, many times it’s the way they are raised to look down on others that they believe are beneath them because they aren’t on the same “level” as they are.

I would say it's always because they have an over inflated ego. And I give everybody a chance. I'm certainly no better than anybody else.
