@robingoodfellow 🤔you user name rather sums up your act of selfless kindness .gives you hope in our fellow man that you are prepared to risk all for another creature🤗

@smiler2012 all I risked was getting wet and muddy

Not very many people would go out of their way to save the life of a cicada, or any insect. 💜
He seems to be recovering just fine...to sing again.

Excellent. They`re singing their hearts out here.
robingoodfellow · M

DeWayfarer · 61-69, M

tobynshorty · 51-55, F
What is that? He is so pretty!
Julien · 36-40, M
@tobynshorty it’s a cicada aka summer sound track
come2gether · 46-50, M
@tobynshorty it's a cicada. Every so many years 27 billion of them come out of the ground at once, live for a season to mate and lay eggs, and then die.
robingoodfellow · M
@tobynshorty you can hear them singing on the video
bijouxbroussard · F
Is that a cicada ? One doesn’t see them out here.

@robingoodfellow They exist in some parts of California, but not quite the same types as other states. And they don’t appear (so far) in the Bay Area. When my friend first lived in Sacramento County she saw (and heard) them. 😄
robingoodfellow · M
@bijouxbroussard I would miss them if I lived somewhere they're not. Like fireflies, I look forward to their time of year.
bijouxbroussard · F
@robingoodfellow Fireflies are another thing we don’t see here. I first saw them while visiting my grandparents in Louisiana as a child. We kids ran among them on the front lawn at dusk. I was enchanted by them.
