I made a friend this morning

I found him

Drowning here

I had to scramble down a steep embankment and held on to a tree branch and just got him before he floated down river.
His wings look like glass

Excuse the dirty hand (from previously mentioned scrambling)

I left him here. I think he'll live to sing again

@robingoodfellow They exist in some parts of California, but not quite the same types as other states. And they don’t appear (so far) in the Bay Area. When my friend first lived in Sacramento County she saw (and heard) them. 😄

@bijouxbroussard I would miss them if I lived somewhere they're not. Like fireflies, I look forward to their time of year.

@robingoodfellow Fireflies are another thing we don’t see here. I first saw them while visiting my grandparents in Louisiana as a child. We kids ran among them on the front lawn at dusk. I was enchanted by them.
