Why are there so many fake profiles here?

Well, mine is 100% authentic and real we may not agree on things or see eye to eye as to how I live, but I am always up for a good discussion any time.

Each user has their own reason for being here. In my case it is part of my search for and invention of the most authentic self. So everything I post is real. But for others the reason is to have fun and for a few to cause upset. Multiple accounts suit some people; they don't suit me, it's hard enough being me without trying to be 62 people.

Have you been on ep? Can't remember the nick of that person who made up an entire family. Real hard work to think up all those fake accounts and write so many stories. I saw it as a piece of art. Said person had clearly too much time on it's hands to create such.

I have ONE account. It's all just ME. My profile page is so loaded up that people's eyes must cross when they visit it.

It all has to do with the KIND of person you are, I guess. Honest people don't ever WANT to be fake.

I don't think it's just here. Facebook has a lot of clones. I am convinced about 50% of social media is fake.

I don't understand the reason(s) anyone would have an alt account? The only reason I can imagine would be to deceive others.

It takes work to find the real ones. It's worth it though.

i am getting hit up by fake profiles too. i know who the ones that hit my political posts but i had more today

Would you say that Ophelia was a fake profile? I mean she didn't exist, she was pure fantasy.

some ar just for fantasy,,, often a man role-playing as the the kind of young woman he wishes he could meet
others are just trolling for fun.
a few are men. gay men,, who want attention and pics

others are hiding as someone uninteresting so they can freely take part without a lot of sexual pressure
