as they officially exit the home of pizza, Italy.
… not sure if that's true. I rather believe the thing we call "Pizza" is an American invention; maybe first made by Italian immigrants.

Google just told me it was invented in Naples.

@LordShadowfire Yes I was wrong 🌷
@helenS Understandable. There's a lot of foods that are supposed to be from other countries that were invented in America.

Saw this on my "news" feed yesterday. Absolutely cracked me up. But the bit that really got to me is that it took Domino's SEVEN YEARS to realise that they had messed up😂😂😂

Dominoes in italy is akin to red lobster on the coast.
Tell me though...
My mother visited italy in 1971. She told me that street vendors were selling sardines(not little canned fishes) folded in dough, calling it pizza. Is/was that a thing?

@Carla I would not rule it out. Street food in parts of Italy varies so much, it's like food carts in the US, depends on which one you hit. I can see a sardine pizza, it would be no different from decorating your pizza with anchovy (I hate it, too salty).
This month it's heirloom tomatoes pizza month at Pagliacci Pizza.

Probably sold it as a novelty -- "did you know cardboard could be used this way?"

It caters to the tourists. That’s why.
And they offer local specialties on their menu that varies by city/country.

@CookieCrumbs They (I'm talking about McD's, BK and KFC) do alter their ingredients and choices a little bit to cater for local tastes. However, not enough to make any real difference.
Also, it's not just tourists that frequent those establishments. Young people go to them because they've bought into the USA hype.
Obviously we can determine reasons "why?", I simply find many of those reasons to be rather daft🤷♂️

I agree. The younger generation prefer those places because they are foreign/American brands.

That's kinda funny. I see Burger king prices are ridiculously cheap in Istanbul but burger is the last thing I would eat here.
deadgerbil · 22-25
Omg lol I like dominos but they have no place in Italy
deadteddy · 26-30, F

room101 · 51-55, M
@iamonfire696 They wouldn't....................but it took Domino's seven years to figure that out😂😂😂
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@room101 I don’t even go to Dominos in Canada 🤣. Crazy that it took 7 years to figure that out.

It's honestly amazing that Dominoes has existed as long as it has for making what is objevtively the worst pizza in existence.
deadgerbil · 22-25
@MethDozer I like dominos pizzas with extra cheese and sauce but yeah the crust is the worst. It's almost always burnt up
MethDozer · M

deadgerbil · 22-25
