I used to feed the wild turkeys in my own back yard, in Plymouth. I enjoyed the continuity...the thought that THOSE wild turkeys might have been the distant descendants of the wild turkeys the Pilgrims hunted. ☺️
I used to buy bags of cracked corn for them...but was soon sorry that I did. They made my back yard their home. They tore up every bit of my English Ivy. Two males had a vicious looking mating fight right in the middle of my little perennial garden, ripping the plants with their claws. It was crazy!
So enjoy the view, and leave those beauties to be wild...and be wiser than I was...🤣🤣🤣

@4meAndyou if that ever happens..we are going to fight...lol.., it is bad enough that the deer eat my plants now.

@ShadowWorker Chicken wire fences top and bottom are the only way to stop some critters.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@4meAndyou yup..I want some chickens.. been looking at coops and ..you are right... top and bottom..to protect them.❤✌

Wow, the same area as the deer. Wild turkeys can be very mean. I once had a mother hidden by and charging me when i was walking my dog. Another group attacked the tires of cars.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@samueltyler2 oh wow! They are big enough to harm someone. yup...they are mean towards each other.
sree251 · 41-45, M
Are they on your land?
sree251 · 41-45, M
@ShadowWorker Are you close to a town or homesteading off grid? 120 acres are a lot of land. I have always been dreaming of doing something like that: live on the land away from the city. I am a city guy. I guess you have good internet which is something I cannot wean myself away from.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@sree251 we are 20mins from a small town with a IGA and Dollar store. Walmart and Kroger.....etc...is 40 mins away.
We heat with wood, propane backup for heat and well water.
Yes we run off of satellite for TV and WIFI. No landline or cell phone signal.

@ShadowWorker Sounds exciting to me to be away from the city where you are at even though I know I can't hack it. I am like those guys in the movie Deliverance. I am not as tough as the Burt Reynolds character and somewhat like that of John Voight. Do you know what I mean?
Those turkeys on your land are wild. Do you trap them for Thanksgiving and Christmas?

ShadowWorker · 61-69, F

littlepuppywantanewlife · 31-35, M
@ShadowWorker very nice. 🙂

🤔Turkeys 🦃 🍽️.

SW-User
@ShadowWorker Honestly I haven’t eaten it in years 💁♂️. Developed some kind of food intolerance to it 😒
There was a time though when I couldn’t get enough 😋

@SW-User I'll bake a Turkey beast, but a whole bird is just too much. My husband is a vegetarian..sooo...lol... he loves the rest of the holiday feast.

SW-User
[@ShadowWorkerA beast 🤔😂

ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@GJOFJ3 yup...me too! It never gets old seeing my ... neighbors 😁
exexec · 70-79, C
Nice flock of turkeys. Always good to see some little ones.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@exexec there are 2 gobblers and 8 hens with youngsters that come to feed. One gobbler, his beard drags the ground.
exexec · 70-79, C
@ShadowWorker Wow! An old guy.
calicuz · 56-60, M
Wild Turkeys?
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@calicuz yes indeed. Almost every day visitors 😎
Roundandroundwego · 61-69
It can all be blocked out by one sick minded human being, shouting, hitting, demanding things from me. She pounds my home with fists and talks about disgusting, lewd acts. Sadly, peace isn't allowed a peaceful moment.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@Roundandroundwego sigh.... blessings and prayers for peace.
OogieBoogie · F
Are they turkeys?
I'm pretty sure I'm surrounded by them at work🤔

@SW-User that does look delicious.
Musicman · 61-69, M
What exactly are those?
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@Musicman so you never saw a wild Turkey. Oh my...when they open their tails...fancy!
Musicman · 61-69, M
@ShadowWorker I just haven't seen them looking quite like that. Not much of a neck and no jiblet under their beak.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@Musicman there are 2 gobblers, one beard hangs on the ground. The other male is not as big. I tried to get a picture of them...but they were just too hungry.
