Nah. The cow gets up right after it falls over.
popmol · 22-25, M
@Dainbramadge be careful of bulls!
Magnolia21 · 22-25, F
Always feels like you never tip enough, and sometimes, the service was so bad you don't even bother and get the stink eye from the waitress that spent the past hour on her phone while not even getting your order right.
popmol · 22-25, M
@Magnolia21 well i mean thats not even working? thats just standing there being a servant!
calicuz · 51-55, M
@Magnolia21
Hey, there's no shame in my game. We once had a horrible waitress at Denny's one time. I mean, we needed service and she was nowhere to be found every time we needed something. She took forever to take out orders as well. I think the change on the bill was 2 bucks and a little change, that's all I gave her, and walked out.

I always feel self conscious about tipping, even when I tip quite a lot.
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
I have never understood a situation where the business owner can reduce their risk by underpaying staff and getting the customer to pay.
It seems to be anti-capitalist.
In fact, it seems to be socialism to rely on the community to pay some of your staff's wage.

I tip people who provide me with good service. I won't drop anything in the tip jars at convenience stores though. That's just too much.
Lilymoon · F
@SW-User yeah that's going a bit far haha agreed
popmol · 22-25, M
@SW-User very odd indeed!
Dustyhands · 46-50, M
I used to wait tables years ago -all through college. Don’t feel weird tipping the server at a restaurant or the haircut lady etc… but I do feel weird tipping when picking up to-go orders. 20%? 10%? And when buying food from the counter somewhere. Baristas make a drink like a bartender so I get that. But the lady at the donut shop? I think Americans during Covid times were tipping extra out of generosity knowing that it was hard times for service industry folks but that’s led to tip inflation now.
popmol · 22-25, M
@Dustyhands but i mean why not get decent wages?
Lilymoon · F
I tip anyone who provides a service.. from the pizza guy all the way to the furniture guys 😁
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
No, people who rely on tips get paid next to nothing.
If the service is terrible, have a real long wait without an apology or explaination , rude waitress, food burnt or raw , then I don't tip.
Rarely ever that bad so we always tip.

@Olderguy That's a different story then.
I am not sure I'd tip in that case

Olderguy · 61-69, M
@Justmeraeagain I still tip but not if it’s bad service
popmol · 22-25, M
@Justmeraeagain but i mean whats better service? just bring over the food?
BarbossasHusband · 36-40, M
Yepp
popmol · 22-25, M
@BarbossasHusband right?
calicuz · 51-55, M
I always tip well, and I don't feel weird about it.
Spoiledbrat · F
I only tip in restaurants where I'm served.
popmol · 22-25, M
@Spoiledbrat what weird backwards place are you living? their only job moving plates and getting them back to the kitchen is their one job!
Spoiledbrat · F
@popmol That's not my fault. Tipping is not mandatory. IIt is something the public does when they feel it's deserved.
popmol · 22-25, M
@Spoiledbrat okay
Nah, i used to wait tables and delivered pizza many years ago. and i made pretty good money doing it. thanks to people who appreciated my services enough to tip.
popmol · 22-25, M
@SheCallsMeCrushDaddy well i mean as the tippee it might not be as bad if you had a good experience!
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
I would feel weird not tipping.
popmol · 22-25, M
@JimboSaturn well whenever i saw shows with food in america its like ooh yeah i'll go sit next to you ask you what you need , give you my name, have a lovely conversation. but their job is to bring you food take your order and take the dishes away when you're done!
it just feels weird having them act all friendly because they want money as a tip. feels kinda slavery to me! you better act nice because i'm a dick and dislike tipping but i have a lot of money so the tip could be big! now go fetch! dance monkey dance!
also people say they would nto tip if the food was bad or cold or whatever but that has nothing to do with the servers anyway!
plus i heard pricer over there in restaurants aren't cheaper which you would think if they barely need to pay loan as people expect tips why not make it way cheaper?
if i had to pay my waiter her wage than i'd want some 2 euro pizza not a 12 euro one!

JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@popmol I totally agree. In fact, I feel uncomfortable when servers are overly friendly; it does feel fake and like slavery. Now in Canada, servers must earn minimum wage like everyone else so theoretically, tips shouldn't be needed.
I have only not tipped a server once in my life and that was because she simply was not serving me. I would never punish the service for bad food.
And yes the savings in labour due to the lower wages are never passed to the customer of course. Greed.

@JimboSaturn its a good start, now it just needs to stick and change people over time!
good but others do! i'm like she did all she could! but no the cooks problem is her problem now! its like the secretary for the doctor she'll get all the problems!
but yeah if she doesn't do her job theres should be no pay!
it baffles me in the land of the free they are always free to be in slavery and die. because people want guns to kill others and everyone needs to be free to exploit but any rules protecting someone from harm is taking away the harm from the others people action and that woudl take away freedom! its all kinda fucked!
you canadians are just stuck next to them!
