I know most people in america are used to it, but don't you feel weird tipping?

I always tip well, and I don't feel weird about it.

@calicuz the concept of tipping?
calicuz · 51-55, M
@popmol

Not even the concept. In America, we tip because our "servers" are paid very little money in order to keep the menu prices down. Some make as little as $7.25 an hour in my city, so tipping is a part of the wages they earn, and they can increase that wage by providing good service.

@calicuz but are the prices really that cheap? i mean i hear you have like 1 dollar menus and loads of cheap stuff but thats fast food!
calicuz · 51-55, M
@popmol

Yes, that's fast food with the "dollar menu" and we don't tip in fast food restaurants, we only tip in restaurants with actual waiters and waitresses. On average, I pay about $65.00 plus a $15.00 dollar tip, if the service is good, at an Olive Graden or Red Lobster.

@calicuz 65? for how many people and how many courses?
calicuz · 51-55, M
@popmol

3 people. Free bread sticks or biscuits, main course and soft drinks.
popmol · 22-25, M
@calicuz okay than its 20 for main course and drinks, thats okay. but you pretty much paid for an extra meal with tip.

if i was over there i'd say if i'm putting 15 on top of the menu i better get another pizza!
