I tell people I'm not feeling well enough to eat unfortunately. Which has some truth to it lol
I'm the same way. I'm particular about what I eat and I don't know what their kitchen is like, if they washed their hands... There's a reason for safeserve and cottage laws.
But it is very kind of her. Unless of course she's trying to poison you all.

I won't eat food unless I know everything that went in it, right down to the butter on the bread (yes, I really MUST be that "petty", simply because I almost died on 2nd August 2003 because of the butter someone had used on sandwiches at a party).
Allergies are no joke - but they're often a get out of jail free card for me in cases like this.

I was like that as a kid and still like that to some extent. There is something about eating a strangers sandwhich that is off putting. That is why when I hear stories about people stilling other people's lunches at work it grosses me out.

The fact that the lady brought you food should be appreciated n accepted ..you don't wanna eat you could tactically avoid eating n pass it on to someone who's hungry
Muthafukajones · 46-50, M
I feel the same way sometimes. Just graciously accept it and then discard it later. If prompted to eat in front of her claim you already ate.

I understand that.. I think a lot of people get the ick regards eating food made in a place that you've never seen or been to
LordBarbossa · 36-40, T
Tell her you appreciate the offer, but you're careful with what you eat bc you're trying to figure out which types of food you're allergic to.

Isn't all food we eat touched by another?
If you aren't growing it or killing and preparing the meat, someone else has touched it. You have eaten at restaurants? You buy from supermarkets?

@yestestvennaya restaurants are health-inspector regulated at least. And most food workers wear gloves. Idk what this lady's kitchen looks like. Pass.

yestestvennaya · 22-25, F

DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@Lovebird accepted the sandwich but did not eat it. It's in my bag lol
@DearAmbellina2113 seems like a good thing to do and then can give it to someone else perhaps

Use the excuse of food allergy
HumanEarth · F
To protect yourself you tell people "For my safety I only eat the food I prepare for myself, because I have a food allergy"
It get you off the hook without looking like a bad person

hunkalove · 70-79, M
Yeah, bùt just think how lonely you're gonna feel when everyone else dies of food poisoning!
Banksy83 · 41-45, M
Tell her I have forbidden 🚫 you to eat any food from any old people.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Take one or two and hide them and then chuck them.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@Degbeme I would feel guilty though, but better than eating it I guess.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@JimboSaturn If you`re not comfortable eating someone else's food then either leave it or take it and pretend.
