How many of you still mash potatoes by hand with a potato masher?

Even if you use your mixer on them, a masher like that breaks them down so much in just a moment. I'll admit I DO need them mashed further than the pic to enjoy. With gravy. Did anyone else grow up with boiled potatoes for supper every night?

And to add controversy I like the skins left on the potatoes to be mashed and I like them lumpy too! With salt pepper and butter of course!

Yes, regularly.

I mash with butter, thick cream, sea salt and black pepper, to a soft creamy texture.

I do, that's why they call it mashed potatoes. A mixer produces whipped potatoes.

I use a fork.

A big fork or spoon does the trick.

I take out all my aggressions on those potatoes.😏
