Haha, I’m in central Oklahoma and we had strong winds all day over 20 mph hours with gusts about 40 mph hours times. I’m doing the same thing trying to not turn on the heat and get spoiled this early in the season. Baked homemade mac & cheese for the boy for lunch. Made baked chicken soft tacos for dinner. Could make muffins or cookies but I think the boy forgot that I asked him to shell some pecans for me. I did make 2 different types of tea to drink though.

This time of year with the swings in temps can definitely have an impact. I have a wood burning stove so haven't turned the furnace on yet. It was a mild day yesterday and the house was in the upper 60's. Got up this morning and was down to 58 so had to fire up the stove this morning. Probably going to turn the furnace on in the next week or so just to combat the colder nights. Use the stove to make the daytime toasty and more comfortable.

Ok now I really want a loaded baked potato!!! I love it with a little Ranch dressing too.
Had to turn on my heat unfortunately this week.

Can you bake me a chicken pot pie too?? I mean in the name of generating heat and keeping the furnace off.

Hey lady...
Gonna be honest here: I've never owned or operated a furnace in my life. Two states....both with pretty much zero seasons cept' summer and almost summer.

I had to finally cave and turn on my heat for a bit. Got down to 60 in my house 🥶

I love baked potato, with sour cream and bacon bits!

I usually nuke mine. 7-10 minutes on high, provides no heat to the house, but gets me my potato in a fraction of the time 😁

@NerdyPotato says that potatoes are friends and not food, though... 🤔🤔🤔
@HootyTheNightOwl that's correct. You can also use an empty oven to warm your downstairs though.

Your downstairs or the houses?
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
@Degbeme h I read in the olden days men would have one in each pocket on the job site, it would warm them and then they'd eat it...lol
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@FreeSpirit1 They had deep pockets back then. 😬
