I have tried many brands. We have 2 automatic coffee makes and a Nespresso machine. Both automatics are made by Capresso, I believe a Swiss brand. One is for regular coffee the other for espresso. For regular coffee we buy decaf whole bean Cubano roast from Costco.
For espresso we get espresso roast from Wegmans.
Both machines store and grind the right amount of brand for selected amount of coffee.
My wife only drinks decaf, because of a cardiac problem, I love my espresso. In the morning i drink a cup of decaf with a double espresso mixed in.
Strangely enough l, Kroger has a proprietary brand called Private Selection which is actually very good. I have seen them pot Starbucks on sale and keep Private Selection at full price. I do like their Mocha Latte!
@Pfuzylogic I just checked to see if we have Krogers in California, was told those with the same parent co have different names, like Ralph’s and Grocery Outlet Bargain Market.
@bijouxbroussard It is pretty much a midwestern thing. I lived in Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Columbus where they proliferate! I even met “the man with the golden voice” at a Columbus Kroger!
Lately I have to stick with the store brand of Columbian coffee. Yet when I can afford it I might buy coffee beans and grind them up in my own coffee grinder. I prefer a smaller grind even if is a tad bit bitter.
I’ve El Cheapo-ed out of buying pods but Walmart has a pretty good donut shop ground coffee. Even that’s gone up ridiculously in price but the coffee game seems to be a tough one to win. I will treat myself to Dunkin on occasion and Folgers isn’t half bad. And Peet’s. And Green Mountain. If there’s a sale I’m all over it like SW simps on catfish. 🐠
@OlderSometimesWiser I recently acquired a Keurig (on sale, of course) and the k-cups are a bit pricey, but I also have my instant which makes up my cold brew iced coffee.
I bought a terrible coffee the other day from the new Nescafe machine at Asda. It was terrible, no wonder it only cost £1.30. I poured it out at the base of a tree.
I have been drinking Maxwell House Half Calf for ages...(I know.. boring 🤷) ... but I really like it the way I fix it. When i go out, I try others occasionally.
The one you posted looks interesting. I may have to try that
I have been unbelievably addicted to instant coffee with sugar and milk. No water, cold coffee. It is amazing and I need to stop because it is not good for my blood sugar lol
@bijouxbroussard Stevia is all right. I can't use Splenda. I tried honey, but that was yucky lol which is weird because i love honey in my regular brewed coffee.
These guys. They're a local company who hand deliver the coffee. The owner inherited a side of a mountain and grew coffee. He gets it shipped in and then roasts it himself- used to be his backgarden when they first started.
If I had to pick one, it would be Eight O' Clock 100% Colombian Peaks. I also like Green Mountain Breakfast Blend, also Dark Magic, a bunch of their products. The big surprise was Chock Full O' Nuts Midtown Manhattan, excellent!
@sarabee1995 Hard to say…Starbucks has recently closed 40 locations including one on my block (there were two, which might be part of the issue—oversaturation). There aren’t as many Dunkin’s, but they seem to be doing well.
@zonavar68 Now that I have a Keurig I don’t, either. But most of those places market their coffee now. Even Dunkin Donuts, Tim Hortons and Gloria Jean sell K-cups.
