To give an idea of the extent to which Velveeta is not really "cheese":

I know someone who came down with Salmonella while pregnant. Because she was pregnant, she could not take any medications for the Salmonella, so she had to tough it out for the remainder of her pregnancy.

Any kind of dairy product made her feel horribly ill.

But she could eat Velveeta with no problems!

@DrWatson I have a recipe on how you can make your own Velveeta type cheese and your own cheese whiz.
I would think it would be much healthier because it doesn't have all those additives or that much salt.
But then it uses real cheese so that leave your friend out 🥺

I'm a cheese connoisseur, but Velveeta, with Tomato's,(salsa) Jalapenos, Chili seasoning, etc., makes an excellent Nacho Cheese sauce!!! 😋
