Alcohol can be a good antidepressant

I remember two year ago the only thing that saved my ass was a bottle of jack daniels and a bittle of scotch.
I was unable to sleep, I was taking one shot before going to bed and I was knocked out like a horse.
And I have found everything funny and all the stress went away.
But it exacerbated by skin allergies.
I must say alcohol is a good remedy but it doesn’t come out without flows.

It really isn't. Trust me, I know. It's actuallly the worst possible antidepressant and a horrible drug with low redeeming qualities. Doesn't lead to good long term REM sleep either. A moderate amount may be good for a bit of stress and that is it. Beyond that, there are much better things.

@GeistInTheMachine I wasn’t like drinking the whole bottle in a day. I was taking three shots in total during the whole day. They boosted my mood. Well, fir sure, drinking big amounts is only leading to total ruin.

@mellie dont make it a habbit. It can seriously mess your life up if you turn to it to feel better.

@mellie Yeah. Can be the beginings of a downward spiral, though. The attitude of this post is quite cavalier to the effects of alcohol.

Alcohol is a wonder drug, done in moderation, of course.
Dv8rs · 18-21, F
@GeistInTheMachine I've been drinking since before I was of legal age to do so, I mean, who hasn't?
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@Dv8rs Normal well adjusted people.

@Dv8rs You know the old addage, if all your friends start jumping off a cliff, are you going to do it too?

If you want to drink you are going to drink. But do your self a favor and research what alcohol is. How it works. Side effects, risks. And the alternatives.

Society does not respect it enough. It is a powerful drug. Not a toy to be so jovial about.

Just because something is old, widespread and common does not make it good.

It's a huge industry and IMO, modern society doesn't do a good job at explaining and demystifying it or presenting alternatives.

Prudence pays dividends.

I believe there is a limit. Find that limit, and alcohol takes the edge off. Problem is, some go too far.

It’s not a good remedy long-term. It’s not.
Depressant, antidepressant,. Same thing.
[b]Hmmmmm yeah sometimes it is good and to dance when out and not be embarrassed or awkward when dancing 🤷🏼‍♀️ BUT sometimes it can be bad aswell..I think some people van be allergic or have a reaction when they drink also can be bad when feeling bad on emotions and that..with not many friends and other things, might wanna kill themself or whatever after a bit too much to drink.. Its hugely flawed long term. Short term its awesome.
and a powerful depressant..
smiler2012 · 61-69
{@mellie] if you felt it worked in the short term all well and good but alcohol is not or never the real answer too problems as all it does is gives short term cure for issues. when you sober up sadly your problems still exist
Alcohol never helped me sleep and if I did fall asleep I'd wake up with a hangover.
But as you say , it does ease up depression
Alcohol is in fact a depressant, though it doesn't seem like it initially. What alcohol does do is affect the central nervous system, causing a sedative effect and over a longer period, eventually causes brain damage and your organs will shut down.

It's a way to cope, but it's not the best way, there's sleep meds.
The science says the opposite 🤔
Emjay · 18-21, F
Alcohol is a depressant.
Monalisaa1986 · 36-40, F
Yeah but like any medication it has side effects
I think you'd find psychiatrists would tell you that you couldn't be more wrong

I could use some right now. This place is my primary outlet for how I feel, and right now I'm shadowbanned.
