My mind may be open, but my mouth remains tight shut when some foods are offered. I am not a good guest, I'm afraid, and frequently politely decline those kind enough to invite me for dinner or out to a restaurant (when I have checked the latter's menu). I hate to spoil an evening and embarrass all present - including me.
Actually, I probably would give snake meat a try: fish and meat are normally fine. Just don't add extra flavours to 'improve' it.
Generally I'm straight in there and open minded, there would be some foods that I wouldn't eat if I didn't think it was ecologically sound but I haven't really come across anything. I don't travel far.
I am more open to eating weird seafood. I've eaten raw octopus tentacle. It was rather thick, and the sucker pods were right THERE...but ate it anyway. It was rubbery. I once tried to swallow a raw oyster, too...but it was way too large, and I nearly choked.
There are some foods I just have no interest in trying. And nowadays, there are so many things I can’t eat, so I stick to what I enjoy and what doesn’t cause problems. 😊
I wont eat any seafood other than boneless, skinless cod, as I hate the smell of it. Other than that I'll eat most things other than snails, offal, game or mouldy cheese.
@jackson55 Have you ever eaten bison chili ? It doesn’t taste much different from regular beef. I occasionally prepare it for a friend when I can find it.
