Grew up on the Gulf coast and had seafood abut twice a week. Always on Fridays. Perch was my favorite fish and crabs my favorite shell fish. Crab-burgers and shrimp-burgers were popular. A crab burger is like a hamburger except made with a thin, flat grilled crabcake.
A place called Felix's Oyster Bar in New Orleans has forever been my favorite sea food place.
I REALLY love seafood! Even Sushi...more particularly, Maki rolls. Alaskan King Crab legs are my all time permanent favorite, but I also like the fried seafood platter at Lobster Hut.
Affordability has now become an issue...so typically, I can only afford to buy Tilapia, Catfish...and very rarely...salmon for my home cooking.
Yes. I love shrimp, crab, scallops, most fish, clams. My parents were born in one port city (New Orleans) and moved to another where I was born and raised (San Francisco) so I grew up with seafood as a staple of my diet.
I've always loved shrimp cocktails and lobster, but it's only in the last decade or so I've really gotten into fish -- other than tuna, of course. Grew up on tuna sandwiches.
