I still want to help people.

Every month a leave a grocery bag full of food for homeless passerbys I do it once or twice a month. I am still concerned for them despite the EBT showdown. Even they deserve to eat something. I'm thinking of leaving them some peanut butter jars and a few canned items. Everyone deserves to eat.

That's great! I volunteer each month with county Food Bank distributions, and we have had to cut back to one distribution a month due to government cutbacks. With the upcoming SNAP cuts, I'm afraid there will be a serious food shortage for those who need help.

@disturbedchicken I heard the CEO of the Houston Food Bank being interviewed today, and he said their disaster reserves would last a few weeks. After that is gone, the outlook is bleak.

That's what some of them did even though they where in costume... They would feed the Homeless... And in costume or not that's a good deed ❤❤❤❤ Kuddos to you for trying to make a difference ❤❤

I used to do the same for the locals in my home city, I'd buy bread and sandwich stuff so they could eat for a while.

It sucks you can't help everyone all the time, but too few people do.

@Mordechai Same I've left sandwich stuff that's easy to make. I do it here in my neighborhood once or twice a month and during the Christmas season we've left out cheap toys too for people and they'll still take them.

@TryingtoLava Yes, it's just the right thing to do. It's crazy how this is happening. I hope it's not for too long because people out there do need food and the food banks that we are being directed to aren't going to have enough food gor everyone.

@Monalisasmith86 That's true but they can still eat other things. And there's other people around who aren't homeless but need food and finding a random bag of nice food is a blessing to them. That's how I see it.
