Candida it is in our guts and it feeds of of sugars, not only white sugar but ALL foods that break down into sugar (meats and fats would be an exception): so it can be bread, veggies and lentils; the higher the Glycemic Index is (GI) the more sugar a food contains and will release into your system, so, if you will consume it, be prepared. A wiser call is to minimize it, if you can't avoid it altogether, and have a check up with your doc, as others have stated.
You are sensitive to sugar, as many of us are. Sugar is a poison.
So, why do you feel out of it, jittery and on drunk:
DIE off of candida releases acetaldehyde, a form of alcholol.
Candida die-off, also known as a Herxheimer reaction, can sometimes cause symptoms that mimic drunkenness due to the release of toxins like acetaldehyde when Candida cells are killed. This buildup of toxins, coupled with an inflammatory response, can lead to brain fog, lightheadedness, and other neurological symptoms that can feel like intoxication.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
Candida Die-Off:
When you start a treatment to reduce Candida overgrowth, the dying yeast cells release toxins, including acetaldehyde.
Acetaldehyde:
This substance is a byproduct of alcohol metabolism and is also produced by Candida. It's a neurotoxin that can affect brain function and cause symptoms like brain fog, lightheadedness, and fatigue.
Inflammation:
The release of these toxins also triggers an inflammatory response from the immune system as it tries to clear the toxins from the body. This inflammation can further contribute to symptoms like brain fog and fatigue.
Auto-Brewery Syndrome:
In rare cases, excessive Candida fermentation in the gut can produce enough alcohol to cause symptoms of intoxication, even without consuming alcohol. This is known as auto-brewery syndrome.
Symptoms:
While the feeling of being drunk is one possible symptom, other symptoms of Candida die-off can include fatigue, headaches, muscle aches, digestive issues, and skin problems.
In essence, the feeling of being drunk during Candida die-off is a temporary effect of the body's detoxification process as it eliminates the yeast and its byproducts.

@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON I had no idea this was a thing. Pasta and bread do make me feel bloated like crazy.
@separatetheheart you may want to look into IF you are sensitive to gluten, or wheat also. Yes, I know it is a lot to take in. ..many folks have issues with wheat (gluten is the protein in wheat, barely and rye)...
There is a fantastic forum (free) on a site, which saved my family's health: Celiac.com
The folk there are very knowledgeable and you can ask questions, read comments and search for information. It was a life saver.
I felt *stoned* kind of really OFF, ( never did any drugs fyi) , with blurry vision, tinnitus,
and my kid was sick with digestive issues.
Well, turned out we both had/have problems with gluten.
Best of luck and you got this :) !

Sounds like youre right - that isnt a normal reaction.
Maybe?:
May wanna grt that checked out.
Also may wanna start a whole food way of eating.
Ive been thru a 3 yr+ study of 'food as medicine' journey.
Long story short, many inflammatory conditions, (and diabetes is one of them), can be 'cured', (or rather kept controlled or in a neutral state), by eating low GI, (glycemic index), foods.
- eat as natural as you can
- avoid processed foods if pos.
- try and stay away from simple carbs like sugar/starches and processed grains like bread, pasta and anything made with flour.
A good bio hack is vinegar or lemon juice: have a table spoon in a glass of water before food.
It affects how you absorb simple carbohydrates:
Hope you sort this out.
As we age, shit changes. Stuff we once could tolerate - we no longer can .
Im 55 now and am at a point where nutrition is paramount.
And the most useful piece of advice id want to give younger people is :
Think of food in terms of freshness and nutrition.
Food feeds our microbiome.
Our microbiome is what makes our internal systems work properly.
- it only takes one nutritional deficiency to skew all that sideways amd we start developing inflamation that leads to a WHOLE myriad of internal physical and mental breakdown. (Think things like depression, mental fog, diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer's - the list is HUGE!).
Look after yourself🤗

@MrBrownstone i didnt know that.
I do think its difficult to make hard and fast rules as to what foods work for everyone, as everyone is different.
Some swear by carnivore, while others spruke the personal life benefits of being vegetarian.
Some people go high fat intake and it changes their life.
I do think its an individual journey of finding out what works for you personally.
Like for me....bread or any processed grain is a disaster : its like it just tires me out instantly and puts whatever i eat into storage😩 i slump physically and mentally and become useless 😅
Put me on carnivore and i seem to operate like a fine tuned engine with energy to spare🤷♀
I will have a look at her list and consider it into my amassed information
Thanks 🤗

@OogieBoogie I was looking into the hypoclecemia bit and that sounds exactly like how I was feeling.
YoMomma · 41-45
Yikes i tend to avoid overloads of it too
separatetheheart · 31-35, M

YoMomma · 41-45
@separatetheheart i have one once in awhile.. salty stuff counter balances it i think
FoolishLuna · 56-60, F
Get your A1c tested and get checked out for hypoglycemia.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
You need to get your blood sugar levels checked with a small monitor and also have an A1C level done to see if you are prediabetic or hypoglycemic.
separatetheheart · 31-35, M
@cherokeepatti Hopefully neither
Getting older. And maybe get some blood work. Take care

@jshm2 Diabetes runs in my family unfortunately.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Sugar shock
separatetheheart · 31-35, M
@MrBrownstone Is that the same as a sugar rush?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@separatetheheart No. It’s a shock to your system.
ToLivePeacefully · 31-35, M
Just don't eat sugary things for a day or two.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
Use raw sugar from now on. It comes from sugar cane. Zero side effects. Zero pain. ☺
separatetheheart · 31-35, M
@Zonuss I'll try it but I'm wary about sugar at the moment.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
You might be pre-diabetic. Ask your doctor.
separatetheheart · 31-35, M
@LordShadowfire I hope not but diabetes runs in my family.
ArtieKat · M
@separatetheheart Get checked! I had diabetes for quite a while before it was diagnosed
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@separatetheheart Yeah, diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure run in my family.
They're the only things that run in my family. 😆

Not good for you any ways.

Sugar is literally the most toxic thing you can put into your body.
