New Study Shows Effects of Eating 100g Protein in a SINGLE MEAL

There's an old myth that the body can only absorb 30g of protein at a time. Now an interesting new study confirms that it's a myth for sure. The 1970s called, they want their health studies back, time for updated studies in 2024 馃憖

Your body absorbs as much as it can from what you eat and processes it accordingly. Now, more often than not if you eat something with 50g of protein, one person might only get 40g worth, one might get 49g, one might only get 30g. That is individual differences, digestion, and health though.

@thenormalkindofcrazy That's a good way of putting it

@SatanBurger It's one of those not-so-common sense things people don't think about. Same with calories and vitamins really.

I like this video

I would conduct this study slightly different, in that I would have eight groups, not three
0-25-50-75-100-125-150-175 gram groups
I would want to chart and find the most productive or effective range
I'm also assuming the size of the person, gender and age are also classified
Plus the health of liver and kidneys too

Nonetheless interesting

@mysteryespresso Sorry you face that issue, genuinely but I do think that's a false comparison as I find they're two different subjects. There's lots of reasons behind diarrhea whenever you ingest protein like autoimmune disease, gut issues, food intolerances, food allergies, lactose intolerance and cross contamination. There is also such thing as malabsorption but that's not just including protein but you could have malabsorption issues with veggies and starch too.

You trynna get swole?
SatanBurger36-40, F
@Rolexeo No. Just wanted to dispel a myth like my post says, your body can digest more protein in one sitting. So you don't need to eat a billion times a day, though you could if you wanted to. Some people find one meal is enough, others like to snack.
