For 25 to 30 a week I eat 2 loaves of bread 2 to 3 sticks of butter4 to 6 cans of tuna and 3 or 5 pounds of apples

I'd suggest only buying what you know you are going to eat. Male smaller portions. So you don't have waste. And eat healthy fruits and veggies that are on sale. Buy dry pasta, rice and beans and cabbage and take the time to cook and meal prep properly. Eat or freeze the leftovers. Farmer's markets are great if the prices are low-espeically for expensive things like honey, herbs and dried peppers and spices.

Eat your families food. Then your friends food.. then your neighbors food.. only eat your own food as a last resort. Or live in California where you can walk into a store and grab what you want and they won't bother calling the cops because they won't come.. and if you try and stop them physically youll get sued.. so.. yeah if you are hungry live in California.

Smaller portions and try to plan out your meals for the week so when you shop you only buy necessary ingredients. Cook large batches of soup or chili… things that are fairly cheap to make and will freeze well for use later

Make a large pasta / rice dish that keeps you fed for a couple of days. Go to shop before closing time to get reduced food. Have a large glass or two of water before each meal.
