Looks VERY healthy!!! I love firm tofu. With black bean garlic sauce and green onions!

@4meAndyou I have a lot of Folger’s coffee cans, the plastic ones. I thought about using those. But thought it would be better to use clear jugs so I could see what was being stored inside of them. I might put some rice in the other jugs.

@cherokeepatti I relabel my coffee creamer jugs with permanent magic marker. I tried to remove the label from one of them and the adhesive will NOT come off!!! So now, up above the label area, I just mark what is in there.

@4meAndyou Orange oil will probably take the labels off. I use a can of orange fragrance spray I get at Walmart for such things & it kills ants and spiders too. Sprays a fine mist so it goes pretty far.

oh gosh no....never. i hate tofu.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@akindheart it won’t have that blinky soy flavor to it. I have used red lentils to make flatbreads and they were good, not the same texture as wheat flatbreads of course but were good for a bread substitute.

Go for it...That looks/sounds really good.

@Azlotto I hope it turns out firm enough to cook that way and that it tastes as good as it looks. Needs to be marinated, thinking Teriyaki sauce or Worcestershire & some spices or something. I’ll play around trying different things with it. I got 25 pounds of red lentils to use up this year. Might make some fresh ginger syrup and heat up the tofu if it turns out too soft and have it with the syrup.

@SW-User They say red lentil tofu is milder in taste than soy tofu. Plus it won’t mess with hormones as much as soy. And it doesn’t stick like soy tofu when you are making it. I had that experience once and never made tofu from scratch again. I try to avoid soy products now.
