People say.."tastes like chicken"
So just eat chicken

hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
Why would I eat a cow that lived in a lab when I can eat a cow that ate grass and enjoyed the sunshine like cows are meant to do!
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@HausOfLuna The universe shows all the indications of being designed and not just some weird accident that caused stars and planets and light and dark and wet and dry and life and non life. What designer could you imagine it to be? Even Hoyle the great atheist mused that there seems to be a Great Intelligence behind the formation of the universe simply because of the laws of physics.
HausOfLuna · F
@hippyjoe1955 I need to learn a lot more about this concept. At the moment I have more questions than opinions. 🤔
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@HausOfLuna Good for you. There is a lot of very recent research that is indicating in ever stronger terms the design of life and how it interacts with earth, the sun and the universe as a whole. The degree and complexity of both form and function rule out any 'accidental' genesis. We can't even get all the chemicals into the right place at the right time in the right proportion and we have a design in mind yet there are those among us who claim it is merely and accident of time and space.
Lucia · 36-40
I definitely would. The greenhouse emissions (Methane) is a concern I have regarding the meat. I hope one day the meat can be made with a much lower carbon footprint.
Lucia · 36-40
@hippyjoe1955 Every piece of statistic show that the average temperature of the planet is rising very rapidly. I know you don't like or support the idea.

I shall admit that I have not considered the buffalo vs cattle emissions in order to give you a sound reply. I do not live in a country that was roamed by cattle, and thus has seen a steep rise in such types of animals.

Regardless with all the industrial activities going on with carbon emissions adding on top of the effects of the methane-emissions - something has to go if we want to preserve a lower temperature.

I know you likely wont agree with me. But please do try and consider it for a moment. I'll try and meet you halfway there. If the entire planet (or universe) is designed and given to us by god - and if the warming is actually taking place with lethal effects on bio diversity (as well as our fellow man) - are we not disobeying the will of god by the logic of Genesis 1:26?
walabby · M
@Lucia Most animal methane is produced by feedlots. Insist on grass fed beef.
Lucia · 36-40
@walabby Let me rephrase then: If the meat has a significantly lower footprint in terms of global warming, I definitely would eat lab grown meat
Steve42 · 56-60, M
Nope. Nor genetically altered. So I don't eat a lot of meat.
How does someone grow meat? Lol
HausOfLuna · F
@VomitingWords Stem cells and genetic code aka dna...I think.
xRedx · M
It would be revolutionary. But would it have everything else meat has? Calories, protein, etc...
HausOfLuna · F
@xRedx yeah because the end product would be exactly the same as if you'd butchered the animal the dna sample came from. The scientists stated they would be able to modify it so you didn't get the cons of eating, say red meat. That's the part I struggle with: genetically modified meat 🤔
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@HausOfLuna Everything is genetically modified both artificially and naturally, the sweet potato has been naturally GMO since 8,000 years ago, foreign DNA.
SW-User
On one hand, I think it sounds strange and I don't trust it. On the other hand, I've been eating hotdogs for years. 🤔

Lol
HausOfLuna · F
@SW-User yuk! They're a science experiment in themselves!
SW-User
@HausOfLuna lips and assholes they say. Lol
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
I would for sure, it might be healthier because many chemicals that were now banned because it caused cancer have still been floating around in our environment. They rest on the dirt where crops take it in and animals feed on them.

It's still good to eat healthy because the benefits outweigh the risk but as our earth gets more populated, more polluted we'll need something cleaner and also more economical.

Both meat and crops won't sustain us for very long.
Carla · 61-69, F
I would try it. It may well come the time when it will be the only way.
walabby · M
I think that it is very expensive to do that atm...
HausOfLuna · F
@walabby around $600 per burger I think but has dropped significantly in a short time so predictions are commercial availability in a few years time.
Well, it appears I'm being researched 🤔
firefall · 61-69, M
sure, if I cant tell the difference, why would I care
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
I'd give it a try, why not?
How does it taste?
HausOfLuna · F
@PrivateHell apparently just like the real thing because it is the real thing. Genetically identical except it hasn't been part of the animal or walking around! The more I think about it the weirder it seems🤷‍♀️
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
I'd wanna see a comprehensive study of people from different genetical backgrounds eating it for a long period of time first.
SW-User
I would give it a go. Why not. Lolz
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
No thanks I like cow
sally1981 · 41-45, F
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
If I had to eat meat again I'd insist on lab grown meat. I don't want to eat something slaughtered.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@hippyjoe1955 did it ever dawn on you that we're omnivores with free will?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@basilfawlty89 If you have a point now would be a good time to make it. BTW we are omnivores not carnivores. Just letting you know we are designed to need both plant and animal material in our diet. There is no moral superiority in not eating meat any more than there is moral superiority for not eating plants. Food is food and unless we starve to death and become food ourselves we must eat.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@hippyjoe1955 do you have any point here? I can eat wtf I want. I choose not to eat meat, because I don't want to. If you don't like that, tough.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Gross. I don’t trust them with that kind of crap.
