Would you eat meat that had been grown in a lab?

Saw a report on the development of meat, specifically beef, being grown in a lab for human consumption. The scientists take a few cells via sample from the animal. This doesn't harm said animal. Then they use the genetic information to grow the meat product.

They claim it's healthier. Free from antibiotics and other harmful things but I'm not sure. The process and concept is fascinating for sure but my mind struggles to trust it. 🤔

If I had to eat meat again I'd insist on lab grown meat. I don't want to eat something slaughtered.

@basilfawlty89 So you would prefer the dead animal just rot in the sun?

@hippyjoe1955 I'd prefer not taking a life. It's my body and my choice. If you're fine with killing, that's on you.

@basilfawlty89 So you want the animal's carcasses to rot in the sun?

@hippyjoe1955 repeating your statement isn't an answer. Natural predators would freely roam if we didn't clear their land to make farms. You might not part keep it, but lab grown meat and aeroponics and vertical farming is the future. Less spoilage, cleaner food, no issues with delivery.

@basilfawlty89 Did it ever dawn on you that we are natural predators?

@hippyjoe1955 did it ever dawn on you that we're omnivores with free will?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@basilfawlty89 If you have a point now would be a good time to make it. BTW we are omnivores not carnivores. Just letting you know we are designed to need both plant and animal material in our diet. There is no moral superiority in not eating meat any more than there is moral superiority for not eating plants. Food is food and unless we starve to death and become food ourselves we must eat.

@hippyjoe1955 do you have any point here? I can eat wtf I want. I choose not to eat meat, because I don't want to. If you don't like that, tough.
