What food do you regret trying?

So last Sunday being Burns Night made me think of the haggis I saw on sale in Tesco. Especially for this occasion or something on sale continually? I have never tried it but their version looks more appetising to the real haggis in the last picture - they look like spineless hedgehogs to me. But I wouldn't say no to a wee dram.

I only regret trying things that are bad for me but I end up enjoying so much I eat/drink too much of it. Like chocolate or alcohol.

If I try something I don't like, atleast I have a genuine reason to decline it in the future.

@TheRealBarbossa I'm a terrrible chocoholic.

@mossyboots really? I'm great at being a chocoholic. Unfortunately it has left me weighing 50% more than I should.

I love haggis with neeps and tatties!
The only thing I don't like is skinning and boning them, they have big bushy coats that make them look huge and is a pain to get off.
A wee dram is always welcome!

Pig's knuckles. 🤢

Edit: on a tour in Scotland, we were treated to a haggis ceremony.

The haggis tasted like hamburger, which I think was the version reserved for American (and perhaps many other) tourists.

We went to a Barbecue cookoff fair at Quincy Market once upon a time, and there was one place that had a challenge sign..."Bet you can't eat these ribs!" They were made with GHOST peppers.

We had no experience, ever, with anything THAT hot...so...we just didn't know. They made us sign a legal waiver before we tasted the ribs...which should have told us something...but no...we were really THAT stupid.

Not ONE place in that barbecue fair sold milk...which is about the only thing that will neutralize THAT level of fire. We tried bread, french fries...everything...but nothing put the fire out. We had to wait till we left Boston to find milk...🤣🤣🤣

@4meAndyou Oh good grief .. and dairy is the only thing that helps with that kind of heat, I know. I never go above mild in a curry or sauce. I haven't got the courage!

@mossyboots We simply did NOT know. Your basic hot red or jalapeno pepper was all we had EVER tasted.

Natto, fermented soybeans.
mossyboots · 51-55, F
@MethDozer Never tried those but supposed to be very good for you. Apparently you have to stir them 100 time but don't know if that is true or not!
