In passing? One of my bestie's sister met some of the guys in Def Leppard, before they were famous. She had also met one Ozzy Osbourne, back in his wild drinking days.
The Leppard guys had just started the band and were talking to her, out in the street, and she stole some of their chips (fries to all you Americans!), and they were really nice.
She said Ozzy was completely trolleyed but 'nice enough'.
Me? One Roy Wood (he of The Move, the original ELO and later, of his band Wizzard) lives nearby and we have chatted whilst shopping. Lovely man.
My father met Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King was an alum from Pop’s college and would occasionally return to visit profs at the school and family in the area.
Yes, actually. A close friend - many NHL players; Relatives - heads of state, various athletes, radio/tv personalities, a playwrite, film stars, and an astronaut.
Myself - film stars, directors, some lesser known vocalists, and military pilots. I've had the privilege of meeting Colin Farrell when exiting the same hotel. Shook hands, chatted for a minute. Nicest guy. There were no press or fans present.
In the recieving line for a red carpet premier, I was face to face with Sandra Bullock.
Shook hands with John Travolta, very gracious.
Martin Sheen, Paul Haggis, Scott Bakula. Paul Henderson.
A musician and producer who began his career opening for the Mamas & The Papas, Scott McKenzie, and others.
Another who auditioned Bob Dylan for his band.
A jazz drummer..Grammy Award recipient I believe (???)🤔
Also Mr. Edward Draw, an incredible electric violinist. We spoke for a few moments and hugged and Mr. Draw kissed me :D ! It means so much, as one song was my Mama`s fav!!! And, I told him so :) Kind man and exceptional violinist.
My family met a couple of "beach boys" camping at Dana point at Doheny Beach, sat next to Steve Martin at restaurant with him and his parents and met George Brett and Bob Rodgers(baseball players). Met a few playboy bunnies while visiting a seamstress friend who was making them lingerie. Met john waynes wife pia and michael jacksons's seamster and the set designer for battlestar galactica.
@rinkydinkydoink no, i was the manager of a million dollar fabric store in southern calif. There were a few others that i met also. They filmed a episode of "chips" in my parking lot also and i indirectly met a few others as i provided materials for some of their sets. Some of Bette Midler costumes were made from my materials. Just in the right place at the right time. Teddy Ruspin was invented in my store as his materials were purchased in my store. We discussed the entire project. He trusted me not to reveal his secrets. There were a lot of contacts over the 30 years. Too many to remember. When I was younger, I met Tony Hawk and sold him my retired fiber glass skateboard. He had a collection he was building. He was a neighbor briefly.
Long ago in Orange County, CA when I was a student at Santa Ana College (now Rancho Santiago College) I took an Anthropology class at night. Also attending that class was an elderly German woman who as a girl had been a hospital volunteer in Berlin during the 3rd Reich. Hitler visited the hospital one day on a PR visit. She met him. She said he had the most powerful and weird personal presence she had ever experienced in her life!
@Thorstormbringer i attended Rancho when it was changing names from Santa Ana College. I worked there also as a lab assistant for all the science labs. That had a lot of good memories.
I have met a bunch of famous people at the 2010 and 2012 Texas frightmare weekend. Vern Troyer Margot Kidder Elvira Anthony Michael Hall Ernest borgnine And a bunch of others.
Not really but my friend once told me a story about how a guy he knew was invited to a backstage of Chris Corner. When I look at Chris Corner now I'd say that story explains a lot.
Hitler, probably more infamous...I certainly haven't met anyone of that stature. But I did work in NYC for a TV network for 20 years and ran into all sorts of people.
Hitler was visiting some kind of workplace and the guy I worked with was an ordinary citizen. He was German, yes, but I'm not sure if he was a huge Hitler fan or not.
I was maybe 18 or so and the co-worker was perhaps in his early 50s back in the late 1960s.
@rinkydinkydoink ...and my response to that other question was the same as this current one you've presented here.... and I'm still waiting for an answer to that other question as well.
@rinkydinkydoink Show the source, it's merely a commentary, NOT the actual rules itself, the "No special protection for royalty" contradicts the previous paragraph.
