Do you smile in general when taking to people or do you only smile when talking to specific people? ??

I'm not sure these days.
When I was younger I noticed how often people have bland expressions even when something interesting is going on, so I cultivated a pleasant, cheerful expression.
But then over the years I found that people jumped to the conclusion that I was very happy, even when I was not.
I think my default expression (when talking with someone or elsewhen) has become more serious as a result.

Specific. I mean I attempt to be pleasant to anyone but I don’t think it’s all smiles. I guess it’s more an attempt to be welcoming.

Yeah I do smile when I talk to people. It's not always genuine, but I do try to be pleasant one on one.

I don’t talk to enough people to know the answer tbh… I’m so introverted that I can’t imagine how it goes either. Each time is its own experience.

Not necessarily. In general I tend to mirror someone else's energy. If they're smiling, then I will probably smile back, even if it's only for a moment. But if it's a more serious conversation, then I may not smile. I'm not good at fake-smiling, though. It just has to happen organically.

I try to look pleasant, particularly when speaking to children. My resting expression tends to be rather grim unless I’m especially happy to see the person.
