No. I did notice that my parents protected me when they were afraid, and I was more likely to deny myself any sort of rights to comfort, there.

No, I didn't have one when I was growing up, although I was far from feral! I have 2 daughters, big age difference between them. The first I was there in her life until she was 5, then less so until she was 14, sadly due to circumstances. My youngest? You could say that I am learning from past issues and being very involved. Sometimes, yes, I'll admit to being over-protective of her.
It's a tough balancing act.
Good question.

My parents themselves were in no way overly protective. Must say one of the babysitters was however. Yet after the babysitters, I was a latch key kid at 12.
I don't have any kids, yet I doubt I would be overly protective.
Kids need to learn and figure things out for themselves. Yet some oversight is needed. Just not to the extent of being overly protective.
Better be overseen, with some mistakes, than to not learn at all.

Yes and i'm glad that they were. I'm not strict i prefer to rule with my heart through love and trust. I am one half of the best team in the world, we love our girls to no end.
My parents were protective… but not overly.
I’m protective of my daughters… I try not be overly, but my mama bear has come out a time or two.

Probably not protective enough. My mom started using drugs with me when I was 13. 😂
I'm very protective of my toddler. I will not be like her.

Absolutely not. I was left to pretty much read a note in one instance bc they had no other choice or left to do whatever.
I was only ever really told what would happen if I came home pregnant or chose not to go to school or follow house rules depending on where I was living.

No and no. My parents trusted me and gave me a lot of freedom. We set limits, but we trusted our kids and they did fine.

Yes and no. My dad was extremely overprotective at random times. Other times he'd forget I was alive and lived with him at all. My mom wasn't so bad.

My parents let us do whatever. We provide more supervision but I think it’s a good balance between negligence and overprotecting.

I was a feral kid. A lot of old family land. Barefoot in the swamp with my cousins. We'd listen for my one uncle's bugle to get some boiled hot dogs. I played outside all day and we had bonfires every weekend. It was good times.

No, I was neglected. My dad especially, wouldn't even notice if I disappeared.

My mother was definitely overprotective. Real pain. No trust.

My parents were not overprotective at all.

Yup. They were religious zealots who did their best to prevent my siblings and me from having any influence apart from the church.

One who didn't care about us till we were old enough to have jobs for him to sponge off.
And the other a malignant narcissist whose life ambition it seemed. Is to have one or more of her kids to suicide so strangers would feel sorry for her.
It was not a happy childhood.
