I really wish my young adult son got out more!

Video games, sleeping, and being rude. That’s not a life!

Start having bills you cannot afford tell him you need him to have income to help u. Things like internet electricity. Food
Or start selling things of his he no longer uses tell him its to pay the bills. Suggest he works to help out. Tast kinda thing. Things are expensive everywhere. More and more.
It needs to be real for him to understand.
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
Oh no!!! May be he feels lonely and has no friends. You should speak with him
I mean I know it's hard I don't know what can we do with adult ones.
@Donotfolowme really?
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
@Royricky09 what part is this reaction for?
vorian · 51-55, M
He's living the dream. Haha. I think thats pretty normal. Both my boys grew out of it.....eventually.
dale74 · M
Does he still live with you if so encourage him to leave is it possible solution if he doesn't live with you well you raised him as best you could he will have to learn on his own
Quetzalcoatlus · 46-50, M
I turn off the Internet for my kids. Works like a charm.
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
@Quetzalcoatlus Sometimes folk get violent when that happens, internet addiction isn't less destructive than other types, it just presents differently.
smiler2012 · 61-69
@Poetryinmotion51 🤔yes that is a pity but sadly thats how kids now computer games make them too much of a couch potato. they need to get out for a bit of fresh air and some exercise
MyNameIsHurl · 41-45, F
He's living my dream life
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
Does he work? Is he on some sort of mental health scheme? I don't wanna judge without knowing more.
Punches · 46-50, F
@Longpatrol It is probably hard to get motivated to work when someone is not qualified for anything better than d3ad b3at jobs that do not even pay a living wage.
Like2play · M
@Punches gotta start somewhere we all did.
Teslin · M
I have 1 of those as well. Well, he is not rude. Quite the opposite.
Talk to him , listen to him
Selah ·
You're doing a disservice to him and society by coddling him. Where's his dad?
Kenworth4954 · 56-60, M
@Selah nailed it!
Well, good job to your parenting.
Pinkstarburst · 51-55, F
Do this and he can be rude outside
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Pinkstarburst Doesn't work in Europe. 🙈
Elessar · 26-30, M
@CrazyMusicLover Euro plugs W 😌
Kenworth4954 · 56-60, M
Let me guess. Child of a broken home? Most likely mom filed for divorce to escape the abuse of a gas lighting narcissist? Yeah he'll never grow up and views the house as his because you raised him that way? Just a guess I could completely wrong.

@Kenworth4954
Well, at least you sound like you're speaking from personal experience and not some off-the-cuff speculative comment about what you probably think happened.
DDonde · 31-35, M
Probably needs a change of environment.
It's easy to withdraw when there is nowhere outside worth going to or nowhere where they feel they can belong or derive fulfillment from.

He's got no life and he sees no future. How can you help him see there is more to life?
Adrift · 61-69, F
Is he still living at home?
swirlie · F
Somebody a way, way back told your son that it was OKAY for him to play video games, sleep until noon and be rude whenever he wanted to. Perhaps you should find that person responsible and take up your son's behavior with them?
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
If he's not in school any longer he should look for employment
pdockal · 56-60, M
Does he pay rent ?????
MarineBob · 56-60, M
He should take mom to lunch
Poetryinmotion51 · 46-50, F
@MarineBob that’ll be the day!
pancakeslam · 41-45, M
you seem to have a big issue with rudeness. or was my bringing that up rude?
kutee · 22-25
kick him out i left home at 18, never went back
kutee · 22-25
turnoff the wifi, he'll soon leave
JamesBugman · 56-60, T
Turn off internet for a month, see where that leads. Tell him if his attitude is just as shitty after 30 days you may extend it.
Call it internet Tariffs. Its on, its off, you forget you turned it off, then forget you turned it on.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Change the password to the wifi
Adrift · 61-69, F
People will get away with what you will allow.
RedBaron · M
Why are you telling us? Only he can do something about it.
YoMomma ·
When he's 40+ and still there 😅
